The word "masterpiece"gets thrown around too easily, but in this case it is completely appropriate. Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece-some of the greatest never managed it. I'd name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score”, by Nightwish… and perhaps a dozen more. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several. For me this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest.

As an Maidiac I can add some masterpieces. Puzzle and Secret My Lips.
@hiawatha.g

@@kent-oveprestberg3578 full-fledged Maidiac here, and I love those songs, but not sure they qualify. I think Band-Maid are analogous to the Beatles, who I think are the greatest rock band ever. They produced some 230+ songs, of enormous variety, many of them great songs. But I can only think of one song of theirs that qualifies as a masterpiece, and that is "A Day in the Life". It's of course subjective and personal, but my standard is what I grew up with, which was classical music. A classical masterpiece is both gloriously beautiful and technically brilliant, but most important, it explores a range of musical ideas. That takes time. I would love to see Band-Maid break with their formula of 4-minute songs and try doing something grandiose and progressive--I have no doubt they can do it--brilliantly!

asami trained to be a ballerina until the age of 18. However, she was frustrated by her lack of height and inability to play adult female roles, so she went to the United States to study. Her often graceful gestures are the result of ballet lessons for nearly two-thirds of her life. This live video is from a concert in Tokyo on March 26, 2021, the third day of their live tour, which took place after almost a year in 2021. This concert was postponed once due to the spread of COVID-19 infection. The fourth and final date of this tour was held at Namba hatch in Osaka. This was the last live concert in which bassist miho performed. I was lucky enough to be able to see the show at the venue. Their performance was no different from the video work, and both the performance and the stage direction were flawless. At the same venue, I was also able to see BAND-MAID's first one-man show for real audiences in 2 years and 8 months last Wednesday. It was great too.

Asami knew she wanted to include acoustic guitar on the track. Despite stating that acoustic guitar is more difficult than electric, since the slightest mistake will be heard, Miyako said she was able to record the solo’s quickly. On the live performance Midori plays the Acoustic guitar, because Miyako is busy playing piano! 🤘🎸🔥🐺🎹

"A Frozen Serenade" is a song created by Asami (vocals) with the cooperation of Mao, who has been supporting LOVEBITES in composing, arranging, and stage production of some of them since the formation of LOVEBITES. Another masterpiece by the combination of Mao and Asami has an "epilogue". When checking out this song, you may need to prepare a handkerchief or tissue paper.

GR8 reaction!!! Asami getting to show case her 16years of ballet training, Miyako "the Golden touch" (her nickname from the band) on piano and if you didn't know she's a classically trained pianist from age 3!!!! Midori "crazy shredder"; her nickname from the band; on the classical guitar. So many amazing elements that everyone in Lovebites bring to the table!!!! And of course can't forget Haruna "the little BIG engine" on drums along with Miho on bass keeping it locked down. Lovebites is supposed to be announcing their new bassist in the next week or so..... stay tuned for that!!!!

I'm always in awe of Miyako's brilliance but you also have to give it up for Midori in this song. The acoustic guitar is hauntingly beautiful and that wailing guitar solo is spine tingling... a screaming lament of the soul..... easily my favourite Midori solo. Then, to cap it all, Asami goes full Anna Pavlova on us with a mesmerising dance. The whole performance just leaves you shaking your head in breathless wonderment.

A heavy metal band with a ballerina and a pianist living together is a foul play! No other heavy metal band can imitate this! Also, this beautiful music sense could have been created because it was a female band.

Great video as always, Lovebites are the best 😃 This concert was streamed randomly last summer on the lovebites channel and I found it by accident, I sat and watched about an hour or so of it. It was great, even when a stage hand handed Miyako a keyboard guitar (key-tar? ) and then she played that with Midori riffing away 🤩 The crowd seemed to be glued their locations as this was performed during the covid outbreak in Japan last year, so they weren't as packed in as they was in 2020.

LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics: Crystal tears Falling from the skies Veiling fears The emptiness inside Time is just passing by Killing me under the soft twilight A frozen melody Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy A distant memory If only this snow could erase the pain I'd wake up in a serenade One life ends And one life begins Evanesce To our origins When I'm lost on my way Lead my heart and guide me with your grace A frozen melody Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy A distant memory If only this snow could erase the pain I'd wake up in a serenade Just like a dream, just like a bird I'll keep on singing out Even if my voice cannot reach you Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away All living things are precious and irreplaceable Just like a dream, just like a bird I'll keep on singing out Even if my voice cannot reach you White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky If only I could wish to see you once more ----- lyrics: asami music: asami & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao

I will justify your use of masterpiece to describe Frozen Serenade.. The imagery of the lyrics is so sad, moving and yet beautiful at the same time. Woven into the wonderous winter world a bone chilling sadness with the image of the "doves and ravens dancing in melancholy." The chorus starting with "Frozen melody" and ending with "I'd wake up in a serenade." You can feel the loss of the person Asami is singing as in such an elegant and graceful way. The interlude is very beautiful. The use of Haruna's symbols to bring us into the interlude is chilling. Hearing Miyako playing the piano, Midori on the acoustic while Asami dances fits so well into the lyrics and the theme of the song. Picking up for the solos the song reminds me of the great classic rock songs of the late 1970's and early 1980's. The Coda sounds very similar to Styx with the keyboard overlaying on the guitars and the bass. The drums sound a lot like the late John Panozzo. Asami and Mao wrote the music with Asami writing the lyrics. Arrangement by Mao and Lovebites. Miyako was with child at this time.

<Auto translation> The performance and direction of this song is in a realm that cannot be reached by men as metal. One of the charms of LOVEBITES is the beauty of the song progression as well as the beauty of the song itself. I especially like the guitar solo in the latter half of the song, which flows emotionally and beautifully. This can be said for "Swan Song" as well.
