I have been listening to this fine metal masterpiece all week and I am not one for apologizing but 7 out of 10 was not the right ranking and i am cashing in my score card for a solid 10 out of 10! Lovebites is a great band, and their new album is amazing!

Title track and first single from the new album. First album with new bassist Fami. The band is named after the Grammy winning Halestorm song Love Bites (So Do I). Lead singer , Asami, has been onstage with Lzzy and the boys performing that song. For more , try Holy War or Swan song , both live at Zepp Diver City 2020. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. Lovebites is an acquired taste. They are super talented musicians. The vocalist is my least part of the band, but like Babymetal, they grow on you as you get used to their vocals. Neat trivia about Lovebites, the new bassist is apparently the TALLEST in the band and she is 5’3”, with everyone shorter including the lead singer is 4’9” I read! Probably shorter than your older daughter, but those women still can pack an awesome metal punch!

Mr. Metal Dad, A problem/challenge with such 'rankings' & 'ratings' is that music is not a competition, (except from non-musicians/artists perspectives). No "winners/losers" only preferences. Music is ART. 'Rating' "Epica - Consign to Oblivion" as a '10 out of 10' & LOVEBITES (any song) a '7 out of 10' ?? I do not understand the 'criteria' ... Using 'rankings' & 'ratings' demands an inappropriate evaluation with no discernible reference criteria & has nothing to do with ART, making an enjoyable physical-expression-reaction into a disappointing "finále" conclusion from this musician/artist's point of view. I much prefer explaining observations of composition & performances beyond 'shredders' as in specifics that stimulated the physically-positive-visuals of body-language of viewers. Yeah, I'll leave you to your perception of 'ART as competition' now...
