Lovebites (stylized as LOVEBITES) is a Japanese power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup currently consists of Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, Asami on vocals, and Fami on bass. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album in 2017, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year. With another EP and album released in 2018, Battle Against Damnation and Clockwork Immortality, Lovebites quickly garnered international attention and won that year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band. Following the releases of Electric Pentagram (2020) and Glory, Glory, to the World (2021), bassist Miho left the band in August 2021. After a year-long hiatus, Lovebites recruited Fami on bass and released Judgement Day, their fourth album, in February 2023. It is their highest-charting record to date, reaching number 5 on both the Oricon and Billboard Japan charts.

Lovebites announced on my Facebook for the fan club members to buy USA tickets to see then so far they have only added Dallas Los Angeles and San Francisco I am holding out for them to add a site close to me in the Pacific Northwest I am on an Oxygen tank so limited travelling ability

You can watch their earlier concerts from 2018 and 2019 including Wacken and other festivals as well as tours in various European cities. There are many fan cam videos that offer a glimpse of their talents in development. This way you can react to all their later videos without ruining your reaction experience.

This was Fami's first live performance with the band. She was selected from thousands of applicants for the position after Miho, the former bassist left the band. If you watch the opening song of the concert, The Hammer of Wrath, you can see the singer, Asami, look over at Fami in the middle of the song and give her a huge grin. As for Fami, she has the biggest smiles throughout the concert. You can tell she is having a blast being on stage with them. Fami was (is?) a KZfaq performer with millions of followers before being selected. To see why they chose her, listen to her cover of Alien, Alien on her channel (Fami).

Band Maid is hard rock, Lovebites is power metal; apples and oranges. It just depends on one's personal preferences. To me they're both the best at what they do.

@@notwokevikingrules401 I agree, just like Band Maid isn't just hard rock. I was speaking in general terms. I think we can agree that Band Maid is mainly a rock band and Lovebites is generally a metal group. They're both awfully good at what they do.

I agree with you on everything EXCEPT the 'Power Metal', simply because as a Metal-er I know there's NO SUCH THING as 'Power Metal'. Unlike all the Yutes nowadays, we-us Metal-ers know that the so-called 'Power Metal' is in actuality Thrash Metal, which all of we-us Metal-ers know is one of the 6 TRUE subcategories of the Genre of Heavy Metal. Now don't get me wrong, I'm NOT trying to be insulting towards you. Rather as a Metal-er I'm just trying to impart some Metal knowledge, simply because I'm assuming that you're one of the Yutes who call themselves 'metalheads' simply due to the fact that the HEIGHT of Heavy Metal from the 80's to mid-90's was simply before your time. And to be clear again, I agree with you on everything else. And in my own personal opinion, Lovebites not only sets the bar as to what Heavy Metal should sound like (well, except for the 2 subcategories of Death Metal and Black Metal), but Lovebites actuality ARE the bar as to what bands from the other 4 subcategories of Heavy Metal SHOULD sound like. These talented ladies take the foundation of 4 of the subcategories of Metal laid down by bands such as Helloween, Armored Saint, Nuclear Assault, Bolt Thrower, Flotsam and Jetsam, Death Angel, Iron Maiden, Overkill, Testament, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus, and earlier Metallica, mix the sound together, add their own unique style of playing into the mix, and subsequently take Metal to even GREATER heights. Just my own personal opinion anyway. Stay Metal dude.

Yep, absolutely agree that M&M are one of the best guitar duos in metal & rock history. BTW, Lovebites will be performing the US leg of their world tour on : (1) September 6, at ProgPower XXIII, Atlanta, Georgia (sold out) (2) September 8, at Cambridge Room at House of Blues, Dallas, Texas (3) September 10, at The Echo, Los Angeles, California (4) September 12, at Café Du Nord, San Francisco, California Even more shows might be announced later, so watch this space.

Got my tickets today for the September 8th show in Dallas. Coming down from Chicago for it but was able to score VIP and that comes with a Meet & Greet after the show and photo with the band so totally worth it. Don't know if I'll survive meeting Miyako in person.

Hey bro! Loved your reaction! Lovebites will be in the US on tour in September. So far it's only 4 cities. Atlanta sold out, Dallas, LA, and San Francisco. Hoping they will add more dates cuz I want them in Chicago!!!!! This is their 1st ever time in the US.

If you want to see them live, you're in luck. 4 dates for their first US tour: Atlanta (sold out), Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. if you're not part of their fan club, tickets go on sale on June 5th, otherwise if you are part of their fan club, tickets go on sale TODAY, June 3rd! They are testing the waters here, so as many people we can get to their shows, the more tour dates they'll add, so if you can make those shows in September, get to them!

While the MV is fine, I'm glad you went with the live! So much better! The bass player is bass phenom, Fami, and is fairly new to the band. She's 22 years old, I believe. Unfortunately, Miho, the old bass player and founder of the band, decided to leave. There's a mini-doc of their search for a new bass player that's really cool to check out! Fami gets her name from her family's favorite convenience store, Family Mart. I agree. Love Bites is the best metal band. Band Maid is the best rock band!😂🫶👊🐺✌️

Miyako's Flying V is her Dean Signature Model. She is an Official Dean Artist. She also has a Dean Switchblade, like Dimebag used, but she uses it exclusively for Drop D tuning now. Midori uses the black ESP she is playing here for songs in Drop D tuning (she has a blue one for regular tuning). Glad you have become such a Fan (it is easy to do). This song was their first release after they added new bassist Fami. And this was their First Performance Live with Fami (and Fami's first time ever playing Live with a Band, OR in front of a real crowd).

I lost it when you said best Japanese female metal band along with Band Maid. This is the typical westerner reaction when they see something from Asia. You have not seen any all female metal band in your life in the world that can go on par with Lovebites. I am not saying this as a fan of Lovebites but I know there isnt. Stop belittling them. there isnt any female metal band in the history of earth that are as good as these ladies. Its just the fact. I am all ears if you can name me any female metal band of this calibre.
