I have always enjoyed Death's cover of this song. But Lovebites truly honored the original, and in my opinion, because they nailed it and modernized it, I think this cover is a tad better than Priests version. Also, in my personal opinion, Miyako & Midori are the best dual lead guitarists ever, and I say that without hesitation. To clarify best so I don't step on toes....my all-time favorite dual guitar leads.

Not everyone is going to agree with ones opinion. But...There is one thing people should agree on is that this bands talent is on another level.

They nailed it in my opinion. I was a fan of Death's version before I heard Lovebites version but as soon as Haruna started and the guitars kicked in, it was game over. I've always heard there's two ways to do a cover, note for note or make it your own, Lovebites chose note for note which in my opinion was the correct way to cover this song, the song is too iconic to mess with. Imo

This cover actually a bonus track If you buy their album. Lovebites doesn't released this cover officially so this song must not to be on youtube

A very faithful cover for sure, they didn't strayed too much from the original. In terms of execution its very good, technically you would expect them to crush this and they did!! They are Japanese, so it would be a tribute not so much a cover. A tribute shows respect, whereas a cover could be seen as trying to improve the original. Respect carries a lot of weight in their culture.

Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is another damn good cover that LOVEBITES does.

Lovebites just honoured the great song. Its a tribute, painkiller is my all time fav from JP (it is my alarm clock ringtone, everyday its hit my ear 😂) ....kudos to Lovebites to make it sound better....love miyako n midori guitar tone, n of course haruna...

I like this cover in the same way I liked Ghost's Phantom of the Opera cover. It's update production and sounds really good, but the original is still the original.

Its a safe cover for sure, I wonder if they put some of their flavour on the song, making some changes, how good it would become, for me this would be better, anyway it is a great cover.

This is totally amazing. It is so good. It is very close to the original. Guitars and drums are out of this world. I have not listened to the original so intensely that I can say that one is better than the other. Maybe a bit different. But which is better I do not know. When it comes to singing, Asami really did a great job. I mean. Rob Halford? Pain Killer? Who can even come close? Not many on this planet. But, she did come close. Not exact, but close. At least in the high parts. Rob is singing lower also in Pain Killer, which Asami did not. Needs a male voice or Diana Ankudinova for that.

Probably my least favourite song of theirs. In the words of Tenacious D, i think it's more of a tribute to JP than a cover.
