In Japan how a bands look vs how they sound is called the Gap and it's a big thing there, think Band-Maid. I read that the reason for wearing white is that they are small and they usually play with a black background wearing white make them stand out.

Midori and Miyako are the two dual lead guitarists, easily the best shredders i've witnessed in 20 years. They already won awards, Best new Metal band of 2018 at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. They've already released 4 albums since 2017...1 Live, 1 EP and 2 full studio albums, they are Prolific. And they'll be opening for super power metal group Dragonforce on their tour this fall.

Don’t think it applies to bridesmaid skirts, but does to costumes like Kami band. In Japan black is formal but not scary. White is the color of the shroud used on corpses, which are kept in the living room for days for viewing services. So white there is not anti-darkness like here, & not just ghostlike, but scary as in color of death

Midori and Mi-ya could easily be compared to the best of Tipton and Downing from Judas Priest or Adrian Smith and Dave Murray from Iron Maiden. I daresay they could compete with Hetfield and Hammett too.

Have you seen Aldious? They're often credited with pioneering the all female metal band trend in Japan. You might want to check them out when you get a chance. "Utopia" is one of my favorites of theirs. But "We Are" is their big "hit". Somewhat more commercial sounding to me though. Thanks for the review. There are a bunch of things I don't like about this song like the levels, the "clickie" sounding drums that sound like a fan hitting the radiator, the whole thing sounds too blended together making it hard to pick out instruments and the vocals just bug me a bit. It has some good performances, but it just doesn't sound right and crisp. Not a fan of Lovebites yet.

They are not in the babymetal level, but maybe one day !😏
