Man let me tell you I am 60 yrs old. I've listened to metal since the first Black Sabbath album. You name it , I've probably listened to it . I listen to this everyday in my car coming home from work. I keep hearing references to Iron Maiden, but in the last 2 months I've probably listened to Lovebites more than I've listened to Iron Maiden in the last 30 yrs. I also like the fact that they have English lyrics, some of it is accented, but you know sometimes who knows what Ozzy is saying either.

This band kicks ass. Highly talented musicians.

They formed in 2016 bassist Miho recruited ex Bandmate of the folded Destrose and together they recruited guitarists Midori and Miyako then they all got Asami. In the short time they have been out they have 3 Albums 3 EP's and 3 Live Albums They are amazing Live

I get your point about Band-Maid vs Lovebites, but bear in mind that Band-Maid aren't a heavy metal band and Lovebites clearly are. Lovebites are influenced by (to pull an obvious one out of the hat) bands like Iron Maiden, where one of the major selling points are extended dual guitar leads. Band-Maid are more of a classic 90s/2000s hard rock band whose emphasis musically is on riffs, hooks, and melodies. It's not really fair to say Lovebites show more integrity when both bands are excellent representatives of their respective genres. It's like saying Metallica or Megadeth have more integrity than Cheap Trick or AC/DC simply because they might have longer lead breaks and less "pop" hooks and therefore a less commercial sound, which is really not less commercial at all, as those bands who aren't necessarily as likely to have hit singles on the radio still manage to sell countless millions of albums.

Thanks for the repost. Not sure if you ever did ‘Don’t bite the dust’ by Lovebites but it’s well worth a look. Annoyingly it does have an advert half way through but it’s still a great track.

I don't see why lauding one band requires putting down another. I was impressed with your commentary until you felt it necessary to put down Band Maid. Why? Lots of morons on the internet fall into that trap, over politics, music, art or whatever. You don't need to do that. To the extent it matters, I think Shadowmaker is the single best J-rock/J-metal video up on youtube at the moment, largely because of that dueling shred (you seem to have missed that it was TWO guitarists, not a solo, but hey...) Band-Maid have put up over 60 videos, both studio and live performances, and there is literally not a single bad one (a few fans have posted cellphone videos of concerts, and those don't count). Both bands are self-organized, not corporate creations, and deserve some respect for that.

I think when you move into a lot of asian entertainment you will find a lot of it is 'produced' relative to the west. that was my first impression too when I initially got exposed to asian entertainment but I eventually accepted it for what it is, entertainment. in the end if I was entertained for x minutes, that's all that counts. even in the west nowadays a lot of things are produced. it's not like 40-50 years ago when most things were raw and unfiltered.

Man the mix on this is really good. The ad at the beginning IMO screws up the video. The live at bloodstock 2018 is killer check it out the mix is not as good but hey it's live . I'm a Band Maid fan but what can I say these gal's ROCK.

The entire album is excellent. My only regret is that they don't sing at least one song in Japanese.
