Great choice of song. This fantastic band is one of the best metal bands today. My wolfbrothers and wolfsisters have written a lot about this band. Let me just add that this masterpiece by Miyako (dark haired guitarist and pianist) is a tribute to Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. Have a good day :-).

You have a point with Asami's voice. It is an acquired sound. The more you hear it, the more you will get used to it. She comes from a jazz- and R&B background. But, try another few songs, by all means. Me personally , as a nearly 60 year old, can't go to sleep unless I heard a Lovebites reaction :-)

Everyone has their tastes in music. I have known people who hate classical music. Some people hate rock. Some hate pop. Does that mean classical music is not good? Of course not. If you don't like Asami's voice that is just a matter of taste. It is like someone not liking chocolate. When I meet someone who doesn't like chocolate I never for a moment think that that proves that chocolate is bad. Chocolate is the best. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. I agree Asami’s style can be pretty polarizing, it’s way over the top, but that fits so well with everything LOVEBITES - they are crazy over the top good at what they do, and a live experience would be pretty stunning, many bands aren’t even that good in a studio. They are looking for a new bassist so will be back soon. Can’t wait!

I'm not a real heavy metal fan, and I especially never liked Power Metal, which is what Lovebites usually get categorized as, even though they do lots besides Power Metal. I've never enjoyed these types of vocalists, although they've almost all been male in the past. So I was a bit surprised when I realized one day that Lovebites had somehow become my favourite band, and I love Asami's vocals. But I liked them right from the start. Like, I never reacted like you just did, where I didn't really enjoy them and then they grew on me. I liked them, and then I liked them more, and more, and then I loved them, and then I was a superfan. So if you're not a heavy metal fan, and you don't like this type of vocal style, and you also didn't enjoy the song, I doubt they're going to grow on you. But I do appreciate your honest reaction, and also how you were able to recognize the skill and talent even though it wasn't your type of thing. There are plenty of popular bands and singers I don't like, and some of them are among the most talented players on Earth, but they still don't do anything for me. Hopefully nobody comes after you for not liking what they like. Some fans of some bands really get carried away when anyone dares to not heap praise on said band, it's kind of sad.

I am a huge Lovebites fan, but I respect your opinion. For some people, Asami's voice is an acquired taste. And despite not liking the song or her voice, you were very respectful, and you still recognized how talented all of them are, including Asami. She comes from an R&B background, so her vocal style is unique to heavy metal music. Although I love Asami, I admit there are some songs where I don't think her style choice is the best. But on other songs, particularly on songs where she can sing more slowly and bring that R&B style to the front, she really shines! Some of those include "Edge of the World," "Empty Daydream," "Epilogue," and "Frozen Serenade." Those songs are also less heavy, and more in a prog style. Also, just a small correction to what your patreon said when he requested this song, the intro isn't Bach, it is Chopin. Still a classical master, though!

Some time ago I listened to Lovebites and also BAND-MAID, did not fancy the singers, so I went elsewhere. Even though I found the bands fantastic. But, I came back and listened to some more. And now I am hooked. They are SO good, both of them. Still, I am not 100% sold on the singers way of singing, but they are actually very good and the musicians are soo good that it makes up for my small preference.

Yes,That piano performance was amazing. but the song part was kinda weak. They have lots of greater songs than Swan song. ex. The Crusade, Holy war, Glory to the world.🎵

This is the third song they should listen to. The piano is not included in the first and second songs. This song is to show the high musicality, and because the live feeling as metal is too strong, it is a song that becomes a little gentle as a song in between. So if you're listening for the first time, you have to listen to a song without a piano Their goodness is the same as not knowing. The first and second songs to know them are Set The World On Fire [Live from "Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021"] Or, Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] It's the third song I hear as part of their musicality after listening to these two songs. and, When I finished listening to the two songs Let me tell you that only one group in Japan, which has the most GIRLS BAND in the world, has heard.

After about two years I gave them a second chance and I'm now addicted and am "acclimated" to Asami's voice now, so please don't give up on them. You might try their song "Holy War" next, the live Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 is the version I recommend. Based on your comments, the female Japanese band you should be listening to is Band-Maid. If you ask me they're the best band on the planet right now. Try their official live videos of "Domination", "Freedom", "Manners/Blackhole" (two songs from an on-line show), and their music videos for "Daydreaming" or "Dice". I could go on recommending Band-Maid songs for days.

As far as Asami's voicein this reaction, I don't think this video is a good representation of her talent. The mix in this concert is not that great.
