They hadn’t been able to play live for almost two years. The newly recruited bassist was playing in front of a paying audience for the first time in her 20 years of life. She is an absolute ball of gleeful enthusiasm, and her mom and dad were in the audience. Her absolute joy was matched by the other band members, and the whole performance (soon available on BluRay) reflected that. Oh, and I’m in the audience…

I have been a metalhead for 45 years. And I have seen A LOT of bands live.And I have seen LOVEBITES at the Wacken festival,I think it was 2018. Man,they were INSANELY good!!!

One more thing: Haruna (the drummer) is the shortest person in the band, barely at 4’ 8”. Before Fami joined, the tallest was Miyako (dark, long haired guitarist), at 5’2”. Fami is now the tallest, around 5’5”. But from what Haruna can do on that kit that most guys can’t do, an do it on a 2-hour long set without breaking a sweat, that is why she is called the Little Big Engine. Or the pocket Nuclear Reactor. She’s damn good.

This band has no bad song. Normally, I can't pick an out-and-out favorite but currently I have to say it's "Soldier Stands Solitarily" from their latest LP.

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word; they deserve more recognition. On many occasions first time reactors usually are left speechless, stunned and blown away (I know this is your second reaction to Lovebites). These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they’re redefining metal. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Some of their songs are uplifting, with a motivational message. Unfortunately Miho (bass) left the band in August, 2021, but last year the band announced the new bass player, Fami; so now they’re ready to set the world on fire. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. My next suggestions are “Thunder vengeance”, “Break the wall”, “Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”, “Scream for me”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “Raise some hell”, “Don’t bite the dust”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “The apocalypse”, “The unbroken”; and for a different side of them: "Chopin Etude + Swan song”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Glory to the world”, “Frozen serenade”, "Liar", "Spellbound". All live (please avoid Bloodstock because audio is not good, not their fault). BTW, their presentation at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, was so successful. I think LOVEBITES is, on average, the shortest band I listen to, though I’m not sure how tall the members of Nemophila are. Also, Fami, the bass guitarist, is playing a Freedom Rhino bass guitar. The only Japanese bassist I’m aware of that plays a Warwick is the great Kiyoshi.

You know Japan has maybe 2 of the best rock bands in the world, depending on your taste. Oh!! And they have bassists that are up there as well. Yup, they are awesome. I love how Fami's bass is more prominent in this live recording. Also that underlying riff when Midori (the blonde guitarist) is playing her solo is so damn good.

WOOOWW Haruna she is really Amazing drummer i coud see and hear her good in that song she is a beat machine.almost not human incredible..That was fantastic Lovebites are better and better, Midori and Myiako are incredible gitars players so skilled they incredible duo i can feel the passion they put both in the instruments.. but Fami she is perfect in this band does not seems it''s her first concert live she is soooooo good, i'm so happy that they choose her to be a part of the band.. “They’re so happy!” Everyone who is new to the band doesn’t get this: LoveBites has been around for 7 years. This song is off of their first album, composed by their original bassist and lady who started the band, Miho. She left the band recently, during COVID, for personal reasons (she was dealing with the loss of her father). The band went on a 2-year hiatus. Enter their new bassist, Fami. She almost gave up playing because she couldn’t find a band to play with, or anyone to get her playing, despite her personal KZfaq channel having more subscribers than LoveBites channel altogether. She auditioned, and due to that smile of hers and energy she brought to all of them, she was selected. The other ladies in the band are in their early 30s; Fami is only 21, and this is her first live show with them, and this song is the first song on the set list. She nails it. As far as favorite song goes, like with Nightwish, your favorite song is the next one you hear. I’d suggest something like Thunder Vengeance or Break the Wall, both from their Five of a Kind show at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo. You get to see what they really can do.

Well they are happy as this was their first show after a 2 year hiatus looking for the new bassist, 20 y.o. Fami. LIVE these women show off that insane talent like few others. Petite women who wear their femininity proudly while melting your face and brain. Total dedication to each other, their music, their fans (Wolfpack) and their art. Anything LIVE is insane but try Shadowmaker, Set the World on Fire, Scream for Me, Swan Song with Chopin piano Etude intro, Frozen Serenade .....oh hell pick anything as they never disappoint.

Not sure why, but somehow the audio and the video are out of sync.

Another famous Japanese all female rock bands are Nemophila and Band-Maid.

Lovebites were already excellent with the former bassist (Miho), but with the new bassist Fami they kind of "take off". She kind of adds an additional dimension to their music, makes it more colorful, "3D", "deeper", and maybe more refined. Incredible. And her happiness in the footage (rehearsal "Stand and deliver", this act here) is so obvious and contagious... She fits just perfectly, probably just "clicked into" the band. 😄

How did you manage to get the sound so far out of sync with the visuals. It's a shame that so many reactors neglect to check their editing before they release their videos. Disappointing really. But you seem to do it on some of your other reactions too. Please fix the problem.

Band Maid and LoveBites are but two reasons why I stopped listening to American music.
