Nancy Charles, a beacon of resilience and transformation, has navigated a tumultuous journey through life. For over a decade, she embraced an LGBTQ lifestyle, grappling with severe mental health challenges and drug addiction that cast shadows over her existence. At one point, she nearly transitioned to become a man, her struggles almost culminating in a tragic end. However, a divine intervention one fateful day halted her suicide attempt, sparking a miraculous change that led her to embrace Christ. Today, Nancy shares her powerful testimony, using her own experiences to illuminate the path for others who may be lost in similar darkness. Her life is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the unyielding strength of the human spirit.

“Your feelings are a subjective reality!” Wow, hey, that’s a really messed up thing to say. Phrases like that are why people, especially youth, are afraid of talking to others about their emotions. They’ll assume they’ll be judged for it, even simple feelings. Feelings are REAL.

1. Actually watch the video. 2. Feelings are temporary. 3. Nancy was told that her feelings were the basis of her identity and it drove her to depression and an attempt at suicide. 4. After she got better she realized that her feelings were temporary and it helped her recover.

Good on you for actually watching. I'd recommend watching both part I kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fdiHfMhh0cqWfp8.html and part II kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fdiHfMhh0cqWfp8.html of the interview as well. That feelings are temporary and subjective doesn't mean that they aren't valid or worth talking about. There's a lot to unpack with those feelings, but they aren't permanent. Knowing that would have made a world of difference to Nancy. If you're looking for more resources on this, I highly recommend @Psychobible. (Incidentally, he also recommends that parents should not take their unwilling minors to therapy about same sex attraction). And yes, not everyone's journey is the same. Her journey started out with abuse from an holder male cousin, when she was 6, which did a number on her ability to perceive things accurately. As a for instance, she was mad at her parents for years, thinking that they didn't try to even help her, when in reality they took her to therapy for months to help her with the issues she was dealing with, but she was so negatively impacted by the abuse that it was a terrible experience, and she didn't even remember it having happened. And the thing about feeling better after coming out, is that it is important to be honest and integrate your entire being. So of course it is helpful to talk to people about things you're dealing with. One of the questions that should be asked after that is to what extent are your feelings controlling your actions - and to what extent are they exalted as the ruling influence in your life. Obviously not everyone's life is the same, but Bobby Oscar Lopez finds that there tends to be a hyperfocus on orientation and sex in the men he works with. Another area of questions to consider is this: What are the things your conscience is bugging you about? Are you working on them? Are you trying to ignore them? If you are trying to work on them, good. If you are trying to ignore them, are you also trying to shut down reminders of those pangs of conscience?
