Yes! It’s genuinely one of my favorite things about this drama! They ask and the minute there’s a no they back off immediately! Consent can be super sweet and sexy as well as genuinely necessary and I’m glad the writers and directors understand that!

I mean I wish they did it more often - there are a lot of iffy moments where Sib just acts like creep and assumes consent/is way too pushy or is straight up disrespectful and possessive (especially calling Gene his boyfriend, when times and times again Gene is making boundaries, was definitely not cute). Show started strong, middle part was bleh and now maybe it will finally stay on the straight line to the finale, unless they go for another cliché. This would be so much better, if they didn't went the childhood friend route, so many issues and gray areas would not be even happening.

@@mjm3091 that’s a valid opinion and yeah I do wish a couple of things were changed as well I guess I’m just excited about this being talked about at all when so many bls just have the presumably top guy force himself on the presumably bottom guy and then don’t take no for an answer or just get excessively possessive to a point beyond where Nubsib has gone at this point. I personally feel that we’ve seen him grow more as a person and Gene has pretty clearly stated that what he did is wrong and he won’t tolerate it if he does it again so hopefully we’ll continue to see that growth! Sorry for the long reply lol!

The kiss scene made me emotional and it wasn’t just about the kiss, it was the fact that Nib asked to kiss Gene before kissing him. Y’all don’t understand how this really made me feel cuz I am not used to seeing it most bl series but seeing it in this scene makes me think about my own relationship and how consent is important.

Its a relief that after they separated, Nubsibb didnt turn into an obsessed weird stalker. Instead he lived a full life, made friends, got into proper relationships. It was just when he saw Gene years later that the memories and feeling resurfaced, but through adult lens. Thats when he realised he was missing something and wanted to explore it with Gene.

You are so right. Idk who agrees with me but in my opinion "Lovery Writer" is after "UWMA" and "2gether" the healthiest story I watched. And this series is a really big diss against other stories with obsessed and toxic relationships. Also it shows the dark sides of the BL Industry. So, now I have to find a way to watch "Call it what you want" because this story is also important.

this is my third time rewatching.. i really feel this series is different. Both leads have a convincing love story that makes sense. they are not being intimate just to please us BL fans, but because the characters are truly in love.

The best part abt Sib is how cute, docile, and almost spoiled he acts with Gene. He pouts, hes straightforward like a child, and he simply cant help but show his happiness when around Gene. His voice turns softer and he just naturally turns kind of pouty around Gene. So cute

I LOOOVE how they write gene's character. i already worried if ep.7 gonna ruin his personality, and him as the firm guy who knew well how to respect himself would be gone in the name of love, but i'm so glad he's not. he calling out sib's mistake and making them start over to respect their own boundaries from now on while accepting the love, that's a really good example to learn. and beside nubsib's mistake, i'm also relieved by how they make him at first continue with life but then realize how important gene is instead of make him being straight up obsessed.

Nib is finally being straightforward with Gene about his feelings. It's nice to see them actually communicating! Nib comes across as a spoiled guy who's used to getting what he wants, but I think Gene can handle him. And I'm glad that Nib is asking for consent before kissing Gene.

I remember when my first bf asked me if he could kiss me. At that time I thought that was so not cool because in every movie or kdramas I have watched the main lead just kisses without asking for consent but now I realize that is how its supposed to be . These kinds of scenes are really important coz it teaches and show us how consent is important.

I wait a week I know it's tough we get tempted to watch after the highlight scenes but I still wait n watch it only legally coz they are uploading it for us for free on yt so I'll only watch from it. But the other many content from wetv which are supposed to be paid iam sry iam not paying for that u upload them on yt I'll wait but if its pay only then sry I cant afford. I dont understand y they became like this coz I remember while airing untamed they uploaded all the stuff on yt for free, only after it fully aired they took it off yt then later went to Netflix ,alot of us happilywatched it. Idk y wetv became like this now putting all their shows on VIP, On top of it wetv is also not available in many countries. We cant help it. Just make sure to support legal works if they are actually giving us it on yt or atleast giving us free links for official sites. But if they dont do that there is nothing we can do.

Man, I just really love how well this episode handles their relationship. Gene is putting his foot down and setting boundaries with Sib -- but _also_ giving him a second chance. We love to see it.

Even though Kao was giving off the creepiedt vibe at the beginning, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't an obsessed stalker type. Which it's nice to know it's true. Even if he did plan to meet Gene, it was not because he's obsessed with him, but because he's the love of his life. Which is why he knew Gene loves his toasts with the entire jar of jam on it. 🤣
