As our sweep through Florida draws to an end, Jeanelle & I had the chance to get some backpacking miles in on the Florida Trail. We were hiking the Juniper Prairie Wilderness in the Ocala National Forest.
A big shoutout and thanks to Jeff of FTA (Florida trail Association) for pointing us in the right direction.

I camped there a month ago or so. If you used that wire grate at your campsite, I found that collecting fire wood haha cooked a nice t-bone on it. Only went out and back to Juniper. Good luck on the rest of your hike!

Kinda weird seeing you hiking there and not the Minnesota north woods! lol …looks like a good time! Yur guys tent was way cooler than the FTA tent! 🤣

Glad no gaters in that pond! That’s what I’m afraid of! Been to Florida once, never hiked or camped there. I have been car camping in my Crosstrek but mostly the SC/NC/GA area.

Haha! Everyone asks that. No gators in there. No fish to eat. As I spent time with the FT mngr, he assured me that the gators aren’t after us. The prospect of it though….😬.
