I love the gravestones! Mind you, my birthday is Hallowe'en. But i think they're really cute, and a good way to give the kiddos a treat that they won't know is really good for them till they're older. And the combination of chocolate and chiles is great!

Thank you, Jenny! I just made my first batch, and used 3 pounds of beef because that's what came in the tube, started at 200 degrees 40 min, then 220 60 min, and finally 250 60 min, because water boils at 212. I used about 12 oz of tallow, two tbsp butter, four heaping tbsp cocoa, and four heaping tbsp Swerve, plus a little more since it was more on the bitter side than I wanted, and a light sprinkling of pink Himalayan salt. Spread the beef in a 9x9 pan, and the chocolate mixture just did cover it all. It's in the refrigerator until morning. I'll let you know how it came out.

Update: after sitting in the refrigerator all night, they were very firm, but they didn't have much flavor and were somewhat bitter. The good news is that you can put these in the oven at 200 to liquify them again. I added a couple more tbsp's each of cocoa powder and Swerve, then back to the refrigerator. They now taste much better. Although, the 3 pounds of meat was probably too much.

Can I say, life changing. Lol Culinary wise that is. This sounds AMAZING! I think I have the stuff to do this too. I’m currently rendering some FREE beef fat into lard atm! Plus I have some beef that was currently dehydrated already. So I can use that I guess.

Looks great, gonna give this a try! Only thing I will change is I will use some good salt without sugar in it. Yes, Morton's has maltodextrin added, which is actually higher on the glycemic scale than regular sugar. I'll use Redmonds. Secondly, I'll use allulose instead of erythritol. I try to avoid the artificials with bad press, and stick with allulose and stevia. Also gonna add a little vanilla, which seems to make anything "sweet" better.

You don't want anything with OSE in it. Try Monkfruit, you only need a tiny bit and it doesn't affect your GI index.

@suehlen61 agreed. I use a CGM and allulose and stevia don't affect me at all. But monkfruit is an excellent choice, also!

I had no dried burger for the chocolate, so I dipped it into dried hamburger jerky, oh so good, then mixed extra with Dr. Davis' l. reuteri yogurt- probiotic chocolate mousse!

I like to just eat some ground beef and then have a piece of human chocolate salty bar after. Same end goal as these bars but healthier. Sugar alcohols are very unhealthy

Hello! It will get a bit soft after being out for a couple hours. Also depends on the temp where you are storing it. I would recommend a little cooler with an ice pack

Hello! Yes I do. 1.8g carbs, 32.7g fat, 9g of protein per serving. That could be a little different depending on how much cacao you add, if you use more or less tallow, more or less ground beef, etc. 😀😀😀

Did these bars melt easily?! I’m away from the home on a campus for a large portion of the day and have been trying to replicate carnivore bars but everything keeps becoming a melted mess before I can eat it! I’m terrible at this and have no idea what to do to make them hold up better 😅 anyone have any ideas?! I love carnivore bars but not the price so trying to make them myself.

That’s a really great question, this is mostly beef tallow, so you definitely want to keep them in a lunchbox that has like an ice pack or something in it? If they get too hot, they will start to melt.

You can add butter if you like, I think I added a tablespoon of butter, but you can play around with how much to add😀

Once you TRULY go carnivore, not only will you lose your appetite for that garbage, you'll naturally stop eating so much, overall. Adding trace minerals to your water will make the scale go down, you'll sleep better, feel better, and you won't get leg cramps. You'll also save money and ridiculous amounts of time. You wont be so focused on wanting food, preparing all these snacks, etc. Its like you are on a food roller coaster.

Except this is her journey not yours. It’s not for anyone to say who is truly carnivore and who isn’t. The dogma in is community is as bad as in the vegan world.

The point you are missing is, the majority of people who go to the carnivore diet have health /weight issues. This lady is losing weight after having children and she doesn't have that much to lose. And in saying that, I'm not putting her down and she can do whatever she wants. However, there are a lot of people trying to get away from their junk food lifestyles which included a lot of sweet things, which are addictive. If you make these kind of treats to curb cravings, they start eating a lot of these kinds of things, overeating again because it tastes good. However, your body can be tricked into thinking it's actually getting sugar and produces insulin as well because of the sweet taste, and that is a fact watch Dr. Berry. And people can end up gaining weight, still having health problems ​and falls off because of cravings. Going without all these things, you will eventually lose cravings and eat exactly what your body needs, not what the mind wants as comfort. So, it's all about the personal self, and what you need to do to get your life back. I don't find dogma in the community, I just see people doing different versions that suit them and their overall goal. However, some fall for these treats and get on a roller-coaster diet and never succeed and quit because they don't see results. @@PinkieJoJo

Hello! I cut all of this fat off of my whole ribeye that I get once a month, sometimes they have a lot of extra fat and I save that for rendering tallow. You could also ask at your local butcher or possibly Costco for them to save you the beef fat trimmings.
