There’s something about the amount of hours dedicated to car restoration that is totally masochistic. The same with stop motion. Putting them together and giving the results away for free - it’s just unbelievably cool! ) just who would do that? So much love for this ❤

George, really loving all your work on these vehicles. I’ve been binging my way through them all. One comment I have on this one though is soldering the wires and then putting them in a screw down terminal block: Solder creeps so might work itself loose over time if bumps in the road work them loose over the miles, best way for these is to crimp a spade connector on the twisted wires and pop that in there instead.

Perfect as always 👍 To make it even more perfect - put a bigger gas gun icon stamp on the thumbnail. Almost mised it. For eveve even more perfect job with rivnuts - notch the round hole with squre file a bit. When zinc on zinc oxide grabs between rivnut and bolt you get the spin-nut. Notching the hole prevents this 😉

Far and away the majority of Sprinters in the USA were originally Amazon delivery vans. That came to mind when you received your parcel. Check with your local authorities but flashing lights are often prohibited and reserved for emergency vehicles. (except original caution flashers)

It may be extra expense, but how about having a separate control for each side? When camping, you may want light on one side (the one facing your tent or campfire) but not on the other side (for discreetness, being a good neighbour, etc...).

@soupclassicmotoring
@soupclassicmotoring Жыл бұрын
You know that feeling of being under spot lights? I figured they'll work better at low level and they're angled slightly downward because of the sill shape, it works really well for lighting a camp area, without giving a glare from above.
@andersjjensen
@andersjjensen Жыл бұрын
@@soupclassicmotoring Ah, then it makes even more sense. I though you specifically did it for "where did I put the wheel nuts?!?" situations, but yeah, having those on at low setting, flip-out chair against the back side, cold beer in hand and watching the last redness of the sky turn midnight blue is going to give a totally cozy camp feeling.

@soupclassicmotoring
@soupclassicmotoring Жыл бұрын
Bit of both, oddly the white is a very pointed beam and doesn't flood at all, whereas the amber has a wide pattern. They're perfect for purpose, which is just to give some useful ambient light while setting camp. [and hazard marking in a break down situation]

@@soupclassicmotoring I have a scene light up high on both sides which have a massive spread and are really bright to the point of being obnoxious if you are sat outside at night. Your idea of low level lighting is inspired and more in keeping, love it. Perimeter lighting has turned out to be most useful for navigating a big van through narrow spaces at night. Definitely useful to have a switch that can be operated from the driving seat👍🏼
