@@cumbob true, the EG33 is capable of making way more power with forced induction than the EZ30/36(since stronger internals are readily available and the cylinder walls are much stronger on the EG); there is an EG33 BRZ that makes 1600hp....... another advantage to the EG series is it shares some parts and DNA with the EJ series

@@@PatricioGarcia1973 yes maybe, but the need for constant pump lubrication still stands. The best way I see it is to run it at lower load so that it isn't generating that much heat and friction. The same could be done for a mechanical PS pump by reducing the drive ratio, but that's pricier trial and error with pulleys than varying electric pump load. @Team Axle Stands what pump was used?

Hey Al, speaking of unpopular Subaru engines, have you ever played with the old EA82? I have a Loyale (Leone) that I jammed a TD04 on on low boost. I think I may open up the engine and put a few miles into the ring gap, add a real ecu and turn it up. They have forged rods from the factory (just going off the thick seam line) and a closed deck block. I've also been ice racing it, just zinging it to 7k rpm sliding sideways, zero problems.

Would love to see you guys do something similar with an EG33. They have nice thick cylinder walls and share component dimensions with the EJ22, so beefier aftermarket components are relatively easy to come across. Rods, pistons, bearings, etc. Bonus points if you get something like this to fit under the native home of the engine without ground clearance issues... ;) Cheers from Canada. Stay safe eh?

@@theskidfactory A company in the states Hellhorseperformance(Dot)com has at least 2 youtubers using his kits on Mustangs one had a bit of a problem as he and or his 2 helpers made an installation error but is now producing big boost, the other is truly enjoying his and obviously they have a boost controller in the car and both are running great. with them being twin the one thing both have said getting the wheels to stop spinning is fun. The turbo's are mounted low on mustangs producing at least 800 bhp I think the other said 1,000 bhp at the wheels and a quick grease gun job and they are off to the drag strip.

Just read Team Axle Stands comment, was wondering if instead of engine oil for the turbo, you could use the powersteering oil & pump to lubricate the turbos? The hydraulic oil would handle the heat / lubrication a lot better and the PS pump would be more reliable? if the turbo blows contaminated oil would not destroy the engine.

Al, question about the scavenging the low mount turbo setup. Have you ever tried a mechanical system from a dry sump scavenge pump? They often use twin 2-lobe roots pump, very small in size and normally belt driven. A bit expensive though, well a lot expensive. Have seen a few low mount current model Mustangs in the States using this setup from Dailey engineering. If using electric, what pump do you find most reliable for daily driving? Cheers, Mike.

I suspect that a larger inlet tube than outlet on the sump, connected to a Y that has a larger outlet than inlets, will help with the scavenging. I'm guessing the problem you had was one would flow free and the other will fill up with oil. By creating a restriction on the outlet of the sump and increasing the size of the Y outlet, I think it will cause the pump to pull on both sides more equally.

I'm assuming that things can't be swapped between the EZ30 and the EZ36. Which I suppose would affect aftermarket support in some way. Since they seem to have a longer stroke than EJ motors does it make them have a fatter torque band under the curve? Surely there is some built options for the EZ30 but I suppose since the EJ was just done to death people don't have to work hard to get bits for them.
