Great tips. I usually wash and store kale standing in a mason jar with a bit of water but the wet cotton bag is a great idea. Onions stored next to potatoes will also make them sprout sooner. If you eat them in a week it is probably not a problem, but for longer term they should be kept separate and with room to “breathe”.

Thanks for this! I’m always trying to think of ways to prevent spoilage. I have found that storing asparagus upright in a jar is water is likewise helpful to keep it from wilting.

Such an interesting video, thank you so much for it! I have learnt a lot! I'd never heard of keeping celery in water, nor keeping certain veg in a damp bag. I shall certainly be copying some of your habits! Have a good week, and of course, happy July 4th! 🇺🇸

It’s crazy that the South Bay doesn’t have curbside composting. SF has had it for a decade now. America is so fragmented with our waste disposal systems. Although I hear California might be mandating composting for the whole state in the future

They're starting it where we are but it's taking a while for non-single family homes. Hopefully soon!

Wuah,. I miss you 😭🙂 Welcome back 😁 One question. Did they last longer like when you wrap them with plastic? 🥦🍊🥒
@simplybychristine2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily - sometimes plastic traps unneeded moisture. I always try to wrap in cotton bags if I can depending on the produce!

@@simplybychristine May I ask if you wash the cotton bags before reusing them? Do they "spoil" from the vegetables?

Yes! Launder after every use to prevent growth of any bacteria and sun dry ☀️
