My car trailer gets a lot of wear and abuse. I finally get around to fixing some things I've been meaning to do since I bought it. Its only been 8 years or so that I've been putting this stuff off, not too long...
I got a full set of lights and wiring stuff from Nilight for this, here's links to the products used in this video:

i got a free trailer once because of that. the guy was so pissed that he couldn't get the lights to work that he parked it out by the road with a free sign on it. i brought it home and ran ground wire to all lights and and bingo.. i drove by his house later that evening an he was outside and i honked as i went by with the lights on the trailer and he flipped me off LMAOOOO

Like Doc Thunder said, here in salty Ontario I always run a ground wire to all the lights and especially the electric trailer brakes. I like the fat wire and the electrical distribution box. Keep on having fun!

I love this channel. "I use this to haul stuff everywhere. The problem is: i used this to haul stuff everywhere." Low Buck Garage: Hours of unalloyed pleasure. Poor thing, your trailer, has to work so hard for you. Now you took care of him, he will live a few years more and keep up the hard work. One day he will be an old trailer grampa in a trailer retirement facility and tell his grandchildren: "Back in those days, i was with this guy from Low Buck Garage and hauled _all kinds_ of stuff _everywhere in the US_ . I was good friends with a lot of Jeeps then. Everybody knew me, because i was on YT."

If there was an official unofficial mechanical guide to “Just make it work by any means” low buck garage would be the author. I use Nilight all the time on my cart rebuilds. Good stuff.
@tsmith578

I think that those. "Nilight" brand lights will work very well for you, I have been using a pair of Nilight brand LED light for headlights on my ATV for the past three years and they work great and a lot brighter than the original lights. And they draw very low amperage,. So low that I am able to operate them with my factory light switch and wiring, without the need for a relay, all I added was a 5 amp fuse going to each of the lights for circuit protection , but I have never had a issue since the day I installed them. Tim from Wisconsin.

I did a refresh on my tandem axle trailer last winter. When I pulled the wheels and started inspecting the suspension, I was shocked at how worn it was. It always pulled really nice, but all the bushings were completely shot and the center pivot was even worse. The center hole in the stamped sheet pivot was a long slot instead of the round hole it should have been. I probably had another 3/8" before both would wear through the edge and drop the axle to the ground. The pivots were also rusted through in a couple places. I replaced the pivots with new cast iron ones and put in new shackles and bushings all around. The lesson for me was to inspect my trailer more often even when it seems like everything is working good.

25:58 As a former trucker who spent countless hours staring at other passing semi-trailers, I thought I'd point out that when located at the rear of the trailer (or near the taillights) side-marker lights ought to be red. Looks like you installed an amber side-marker light here instead. Move that amber side-marker light up near the front of the trailer and it'll look very professional. Nice job overall on the trailer rebuild!

The last pig tail and box I bought, and the same for two other youtubers, the color codes for the wires were not the same as the normal standard. Quite frustrating if wiring per color wire. Same if all are painted gray. Note. Put spare tire on passenger side to be away from driver's door... jeep has no door.. even if had door, it would be 3 feet away from spare. 😁

You are a trip to watch for sure. My grandpa and dad would have loved to have known you and your junky ways. FYI, I notice you force a lot of stuff together which to me is brilliant. If you use dish or laundry soap as a lube, those forces can be a lot less and you wash your stuff at the same time. Soap for thought. Cheers

My buddy replaced his trailer lights because they didn't work ,then the new didn't work. so he replaced the harness, it still didn't work .then he called me ,I looked it over giving the occasional grunting noise. I raised his trailer up to see that his ball was quite rusty, I cleaned it with a wire wheel and dropped the trailer on . behold the lights worked, he didn't realize his harness didn't have a ground and it only grounded through the chassis .so keep that in mind if your balls dirty clean it.

When I knew my spring rates because coilover mcpherson struts came with 5kg/mm rear springs. The calculation is real easy as 2 springs provide 10kg of force per mm it's 1 cm of drop for 100kg euro tow hooks are rated for. Yeah springs hard enough to not have massive body roll in a SUV. Springs hard enough to not drop 15cm with a full load of cargo and passengers like stock softy comfort springs. Very stable in strong gusty wind too but you many will find it uncomfortably hard and I think it's just soft enough to be street driven. (for the weight of that vehicle and having similar spring rates on a much lighter sports car is a but too much).
