what was so frustrating about working at Lowell was if you found crazy stuff going on like tax fraud or you found sexual misconduct, gang activity, human trafficking etc... the first question was always, “How did you know?” Followed by, “that isn’t your job to notice that or do something about it, they have people in Talahassee who do that all day long.” Or “you aren’t allowed to ask about that or look into that!” Seems like a standard boiler plate answer. I used to catch hell for finding tax fraud and writing it up. Eventually I just started finding it and throwing it away instead of doing incident reports etc... because I knew I’d catch hell.” One day I was in the wardens office and I told her nobody does anything about the tax fraud and she said, “I haven’t had any reports of that.” You think? They used to say, “if you find this or that do an incident report.” So I did incident reports on human trafficking that was going on. Did they investigate the human trafficking? They spent more time investigating me and wanting to know how I knew what that was than they did investigating the actual human trafficking. I did incident reports for tax fraud. First couple of times I got high fives from my coworkers and immediate supervisors. Next thing I know I am in the majors office being told if I want to be a detective join the FBI. So they say they want stuff reported but there is a lot of stuff they don’t really want reported at all because then it shows up in certain statistics. They figure if they don’t have any or very few incident reports on gangs in a prison then they don’t have a problem, The fact is they are good deterring people from reporting what they see and know. It makes the jobs of the admin easier because when the reports on STG activity in thier prison come out they will say to the warden, “Wow your STG activity at your facility is way down, what is the secret? You have great management skills!”

I'm writing an article in college about the historical and modern treatment of women in prisons. Your knowledge is rare, I do not hear a lot of commentary about what goes on in a prison from actual officers, mostly just second hand reporting. I would like to reference your video in my final essay if possible, your information is incredibly vital to this article. If not however, I completely understand. Journalism like this is what makes this platform an excellent place to do research, and either way you've been a springboard for another can of worms to break into. Thank you Sir York.

I went to the Lowell reception center. I had a good time. They kept us busy and there was no sexual abuse between workers and inmates

Is this why Sarah Boone has been going through lawyers like toilet paper? Trying to delay her trial indefinitely to avoid going from Orange County Jail to Lowell Correctional Institution?

@@trueprisonstoriesbygaryyor3684 Suitcase Sarah must've heard about the difference between life in jail being cake compared to life in prison and her jailhouse lawyer convinced her to keep going through lawyers. Too bad for her though, because the judge said she forfeited her right to court appointed council. Now she has to get a private attorney, which she doesn't have the money for, or act as her own attorney, which will be quite entertaining. Pass the popcorn. 🍿

Have guards ever dated then married inmates?
@trueprisonstoriesbygaryyor36843 жыл бұрын
Yes and I know this first hand. We had a Lieutenant start an affair with a female inmate. He got caught and resigned. Waited for her and married her. There have been others that have met an inmate while working in the prison and later married the inmate.
@ohioafguy3 жыл бұрын
I know a sergeant specificallly who got caught making out with an inmate in the inmate store. The sergeant who was caught was transfered and investigated. He was arrested. The charges were then dropped. The inmate got out of prison a few months later. They are living together and have been for at least a couple of years now. They are supposed to be getting married soon. I only know of two CO’s who ever got convicted of having sex with inmates. One got sent to prison for 5 years another got sent to county jail for just under a year and is a felon. However, the numbers of employees who were up to their eyeballs in messing with inmates and they just get forced to resign or they are allowed to quit. Very disapointing. I did my job well.
