In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzfaq.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

This is by far, one of the best videos explaining the Elite 7. Why-o-why cant you add side imaging to this sonar? It would have sold more units in the history of Lowrance, than any other sonar!

I have the lowrange elite 7. For some reason I only have 4 screens when I hit the pages button.i only have 2 screens.downscan not working. Please need help.

I just cant seem to get my GPS working! Do you have to have a chip for it to read a lake? It always says the same thing

I've had this unit for 2 years. Works flawlessly. Love it. I recommend it to friends. Have a couple of friends who purchased the Lawrence Elite 5 HDS for the "expandability", but once you buy the structure scan HD unit etc...you're spending way more money. As far as I'm concerned, the Elite 5 HDS screen is too small to view side scan. I'm very happy with the down scan.

If I wanted to add the DSI transducer to my elite 7 base combo, how should I go about installing it? Are you saying there will be two transducers mounted at the same time?

I've had the Elite 7 Chirp for the last 3 years on my boat and I still don't feel like I have my settings dialed in properly. I've tried myself and had another friend try. It's an ongoing and never-ending battle. I would not recommend a Lowrance. Extremely un-user friendly, difficult to program, poor instruction manual with little to no explanation of what each setting means and does. For the $700 or so I spent on it, I expected a way better product. If you want a quality graph, I'd go with a Humminbird unit.

same as julian. 2 transducers ? i have a brand new transducer from my lms that just took a dump. ive only watched this video once but what i think is that you have to add another transducer for the downscanning. ?

The HDI transducer does down scan and sonar both in the one transducer.

I have no complaints with this unit yet except for the fact that it seems like the processor is to slow. It takes a couple seconds to even register that I pressed it. Anyone else?

+Mark Engebretson Hi Mark. This unit will display both GPS SOG and Speed Through Water (STW) when an optional speed sensor is installed and will display this information on the GPS map screen. Serious opinion. My fish finder radar accuracy has been abysmal. It’s about as inaccurate as it gets. That’s my humble opinion and it’s the only one I’ve ever owned.

I think the damn thing got heat stroke on me today. In a100 feet of water it insisted I was in 2 feet. I covered up from the sun with my hat to keep it cool. Then the thing would shut off on its own. Must of got bored with me.

Hi Noli, the video features a 4-5 year old product, and has been replaced with the Lowrance HOOK fishfinder, which MSRPs at $549 for the 9'' Screen all the way down to $349 for the 5'' screen. A great value and packed with all the technology needed for mapping and finding fish.

I would love to get one, but I am not paying the money you want just to make it obsolete in two years . You know ,most computerized tech. equipment becomes more affordable when it is out for some time. You are not putting some new innovation in these units.

This is an old unit, circa 2013. There are a lot of reasonably priced fishfinders on the market these days from all major manufacturers. All work well and help you find fish, even after 5-10 years. The biggest factor affecting price is screen size, so that's at the discretion of the buyer.
