Have you ever wanted to create a map with photo-like realism of the lake bottom? StructureMap takes recorded StructureScan or Active Imaging sonar logs and creates a map with the imagery. See the high resolution scanning sonar details in an easy-to-read format, and save them for your next time on the water. It is a great tool that you can use to record an area and get an idea of what is going on under the water.

With a Point-1 installed (and setup correctly as the heading source) why does StructureScan create Structure Maps with the GPS positioning as the heading instead of the actual/real compass sensor in the Point-1?

ELITE 7TI Hello, Joe Mohn here from NCDEQ. We have been tasked by the Planning Dept. with providing Bathymetry (the measurement of depth) of the middle Cape Fear River. The best tool in out kit would be our Lowrance GPS units. I wanted to see if you guys had any insights on the ability and process for continuous recording of depth and the collection and exporting of that data. Thanks

I tried this several times. All I get is a image that looks like sonar of the bottom. What settings do I need to have my hds9 live on to see this. I am trying to map a small 170 acre lake.

Can you clear the Strukture, and only get the contoursline left, like a classic map? I have lots of struggel to make it happend with my two new HDS products. I want to make that map on the water and use it, not go home to log in online and so on. Can you make a video about that? Is it possible? The best thing would be to use my C-Map card as storage and improve it´s contourelines with my own logging.

Hi hopefully you can help. I have a hds 12 live with a 3 in one transducer and when my boat is on plane my depth over lay stops and starts again once I come back to idle or stop to fish. Not sure why. Please let me know if you can help? Thanks

Great video,after making a structure maps how do I see the depth line,I've tried turning up the sensitivity, and still can't see the depth line,even when I zoom out,I use structure maps all the time,because I night fish and it helps me not to smash into rocks lol please help me resolve this problem 👊👊🍺🍻

you can adjust the transparency so the structure level is more transparent to let you see the contour lines

the structure map the is created stays on my memory card until/unless i delete it?it is an overlay to put on the chart? thanks john

Yes it is an overlay on the chart. Yes too much data for the internal memory so it will be saved to the card. For example you could make a Structure Map of Lake A save it to you card, convert it and label that card Lake A and then do the same for Lake B on a new card and just pull out the card that corresponds to the lake you are going to that day. Depending on the size of the areas and the size of the card you might be able to get more then one on one card or you might need two cards for a large lake.

I can create the structure map and if I click on "show" it will appear on the chart as an overlay. However, if I click on "clear cursor" or restart the system, the structure map disappears and I can't get it back. The overlay still says "structure" but it doesn't appear on the chart. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do you save and convert the structure scan logs onto a memory card before restarting the unit?

@@lowrance Yes, when I save them to internal memory it works. If I save them to a memory card it doesn't work. Perhaps the unit doesn't look for structure maps on the memory card, only internal memory.

I have an SD card with Genesis Social Downloads. I have a lake with an incomplete structure map. Can I record the incomplete portion of the the lake and add it to what's already downloaded to complete the lake map or would I have scan the entire lake and make a totally new map? Or could I possibly save the section of the lake recorded as a separate name and use it when fishing the newly recorded area? All that said, can I gradually add to an existing map over time during separate visits to a lake. Any help is much appreciated.

You can add your sonar logs on the same lake to your genesismaps account. Genesis Social Map will be updated once a month merging all your uploads.

@@lowrance Thank your for your reply! So the only way for me to create my own chart map with contour lines or add to an existing chart map is through the Genesis online website? I scanned a portion of a private lake this weekend, converted the file but all I have is the playback of the downscan imagery. I may not have initially ask my question appropriately. I was under the impression, that from that lake scan, I could produce a chart map with contour lines from the unit itself internally and could later upload to my Genesis Social account if I so choose. Just so you know, My current unit is a Hook2 Tripleshot.... is this unit limited to the function I'm requesting? I'm trying to learn as much as I can with this unit before upgrading to newer HDS model. Is there a better means of discussing this with you personally via email or direct messaging? I sincerely can't thank you enough for your assistance.... very much appreciated!!!! 👍

You will need to log your sonar using slg or sl2. In the past you could have uploaded the sonar logs directly from the unit, now you will need to log into genesismaps. You may write to us on FB, we'll be happy to help you from there.

@@lowrance I did log my sonar using "slg or sl2". I'll go to my Genesis account and try to complete my Chart map. I'm learning as I go and sincerely appreciate the help!

Can you place features in the middle of the side scan only on the larger units?

You can create 4 way splitscreens also on Hook Reveal. However, you will not have the option to have left sidescan and right sidescan with sonar in the middle, as per the HDS or Elite FS series.
