Lowrance | How to Update Elite Ti2 Using Wifi or Manual Download

It is very important to keep your software updated on your Lowrance display. Each update unlocks new features and eliminates bugs from previous versions. This video walks through the steps to update software on HDS and Elite Ti units, demonstrated on an Elite Ti2.
Before you update, you'll need a microSD card. Make sure the card is less than 32GB, but large enough to hold your download file.
To download with wifi, simply insert a microSD card into the display and connect to a wifi network. Using the steps demonstrated in the video, your display will detect the new software and prompt you to download.
To download manually onto an SD card, follow the steps in this video: • Lowrance | Where to Fi... and then insert your microSD card into your Lowrance display. Restart the unit, and the software update will install itself.

HELP Please. My Elite Ti2 7 inch will not Validate the Update. When I restart it I get the Elite Ti startup screen then it goes into the Warning window with Validating or uploading the Update file. Still says 19.1 version in the about page even though it downloaded the 20.1 onto the SD card.

I bought an Elite Ti2 12 to go on my console and moved my Elite Ti2 9 to my front deck. I purchased the Elite Ti2 because of the ability to wirelessly connect them and use my charts on the front that I program on my 12. For some reason my chart is not working on the front (9). I get an error message telling me "Loading charts this feature is temporarily unavailable". Per the video's I let it sit for about 20 minutes and it is still not showing what is on my 12 at the console on the 9, even though the 9 is showing that it is connected to the 12 wirelessly. I can see the sonar on the 9 without issue. Do I have to have a Navionics card in both the 12 and the 9 to be able to see Navionics on the 9? I have my Navionics card in the 12 at the console. Both systems are up to date with all updates. The Navionics card is up to date installed in the 12 at the console. I have done all kinds of search's and troubleshooting. I cannot figure out why the Navionics screen is not showing up on my Elite Ti2 9 on the front when it is connected to my 12 on the console. My 9 shows that I am in Cincinnati, even when I am looking at Cherokee lake on my 12 at the console. I purchased this so that I could set waypoints and use the Navionics on the 9 on the front deck seeing all of the waypoints that I set on the 12 when I am cruising. I cannot find anyone that can help me. Bass pro Lowrance expert tells me that I should see the same thing on the 9 that I am seeing on the 12 if they are connected wirelessly and he cannot explain why it is taking so long or why I am getting the error message on the 9 when I go to charts. Can you please help?

I have Navionics Map SD Card in my Elite 7 FS, what happens if i leave that card in the unit by mistake and download the updates ? Thank you.

Why doesn't fishfinder read gds files from lake scans after upgrading? There are about 20 files on the card and only displays 1 day of swimming (one bathymetry). What could be the reason. No one from you can answer the question that I sent 1.5 weeks ago.

Hi In order to naswer this question there are many questions that need to be answered this would best be done by contacing Lowrance at the following www.lowrance.com/contact-us/ Please provide as much detail as possible including the unit serial number, software revsion, file names and extensions, and a description of how the files were used prior to the update and the symptoms after the update

My head unit on my ti2 7 will not read the transducer it has the 0.0.0. I am already updated to this newest software and it stopped working today. Any advice? terrible timing with the Hobie bass open only a few weeks away...

So when I download the update via wifi with the SD card in, I then take that SD card out and put the navionics chip back in, but the update still remains? I would have thought you would need the same SD card in the Unit that was used to download the update.

Once the unit's software has been updated, there is no need to have that card in the unit. Just make sure you do not use your chart card for the software update.

What do I need to do when my unit doesn’t recognize my transducer? My charts work, and my down scan works but my side scan only shows the line where the boat is... I have no pictures

If the boat isnt in the water should you have the unit in simulate or just turn it on and do the update?

You can turn on the unit, activate the Stop Sonar function and go ahead with the software update.

As long as it is not the chart card, you may use any brands. For software update you may also use a 2GB or 4GB card.

Why would there be whenever Lowrance can throw a "2"behind "Ti", tell you it's a newer model, and then charge you $1,000 again just because they can.

When I try to connect to my home WiFi it doesn’t ask for the password. Any help would be appreciated

It is my understanding that 32 gig is the max size for the sd card. Is this the case? Would be some good info on this three year old video

Yes, you can use a micro SD card max. 32gb.

if your using hotspot why do you need a card? should be direct to unit. seems like these ti's are having all kinds of issues that should be simple.

Please make sure you have a micro SD card in the unit when updating the software.

My Elite TI2 will not apply the update after downloading. It won’t progress past restarting the unit. It restarts without updating then tells me there are updates available and to restart. This cycle has continued at least 6 times. Please help.

Lowrance I was able to resolve the problem by installing an a more recent update from the Lowrance web site. After downloading it to my micro SD card, I was able to update both my 9 TI2 units without issue.

this is way too complicated for me and why I don't buy electronics. havn't been able to use my unit since installed four years ago as it keeps booting up and then going off after a few minutes so it's been useless to me.

besides that I ketch way more crappie than anyone I know anyway simply by dipping around bank and off docks.
