Decided in addition to the bolt catch fix from the last video I might as well take a look at the RifleSpeed gas block!

Pin gauge set is a must if building, one must check the gas port hole of new barrels. Before the build even starts.

Excellent Pete. That 16" rifle length gas I had was manufactured at .098 and a lot of guys were saying they had to go 1.09 to get theirs running. I didn't like that the feed ramps/extension were not a smooth even transition. I'll never know what the real issue was, but your diagnosis videos are great.

Thanks Allen! I will get it figured out! Just some annoyance along the way which I plan to share with others! Lol!!

@@peteregger7928 I’m just teasing you. I remember when you were close to deleting your own channel over KZfaq’s rules. I’m glad you decided otherwise.

Yes, I was really ticked off about the 4 videos they took down and them threatening to delete my account for doing nothing more than showing what is supposed to be a protected right! Screwy world we live in now days!@@ordinaryman1904

Also look into a fiber light, that can be used down the gas tube, one can use that as a back lighting aspect when using the bore camera.
@peteregger79285 ай бұрын
That would help!

Brake cleaner down the gas tube is a great way to flush any suspected debris out without taking it down.

That's what I use when cleaning. The non-chlorinated stuff.

check the BCG, for wear on locking lugs on bolt. See if its an issue unlocking.

The original Odin Works was showing premature wear on the back of the bolt lugs. The new Wilson Combat is doing well so far but I only have about 50 rounds with it. Jury is still out!

To eliminate the gas problem put a non adjustable gas block on and see how it works that gas block you have looks very fancy and from my experience fancy doesn't always equal function.

This is one of the MANY reasons I don’t use adjustable GB’s. In my over gassed cans I’ll use the Bootleg adjustable BCG. Again only with a over gassed suppressor. You can look into BRT gas tubes as well if it’s truly over gassed, that may fix your problem.

Thanks! The rifle has been acting as if it's under gassed. I may have found the issue that I showcased in the previous video. I had a bolt catch issue and hoping that it's "the" issue.

Other than that tall bolt catch and the abnormal wear on the Odin works BCG everything looks perfect. I suspect that Odin BCG or possibly the barrel extension. But only if the Wilson Combat BCGs are not wearing or having any function problems. Do they run and function ok? Do you have a good ex military or very highly experienced gunsmiths around? It may be worth just talking to one, and showing him the Odin works BCG. (if not taking the rifle in to inspect.) Here is a tip I use often. A set of 0-60 and 61 -80 Numbered drill bits makes a pretty economical and much more usable basic set of gauge pins for small things like gas ports, etc. (if buying a set of small gauge pins is too costly and not really needed ,other than this very rare instance) I use them to check very small holes for diameter all the time, and I also have a set of gauge pins for larger holes. Sort them with a caliper when they get mixed up, in order to put them back into the index. Hope that helps.

Left a somewhat detailed reply on your previous comment. I have a few newer videos up where I solved the issues after contacting Clint at "Heavy Buffers". I had an over velocity issue which is opposite of what I had originally thought. Still don't think the Odin Works should have been experiencing those issues with such a low round count though! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

Good luck with GB. Please let us know if you get it to work. I’m having similar problems with my 7.62

New video coming soon! Discussed problem with Clint at HeavyBuffers. He is almost positive that I had the opposite problem of to much BCG velocity where it really wasn't short stroking. To much speed allowing the bolt to run past the catch and then get caught by the carrier. About to find out!
