Failed to mention in the video that the "Range 2" spacer is NOT included with the RifleSpeed gas block and must be purchased separately. I think for such a low cost item it probably should be included. A few things learned about the RifleSpeed Adjustable Gas Block.

Thanks for sharing your experience Pete. You nailed it at the end when you said (paraphrasing) that with Plunger selection you can run any ammo, suppressed or unsuppressed in any conditions. The Spacer and Range 2 are an obsolete technique now that we have all of the Plungers available. There may be a rare case where you’d want to do that, but 99.99% of applications require only the selection of the right Plunger. The two sizes we include with every kit are the middle 90% solution. If someone has a configuration that doesn’t work with those we will work with them to determine the right size and send that out to them. Thanks again.

I think you have designed a great product with enough configuration options that will allow virtually anyone to tune their rifle properly. All the things that have to be taken in to consideration. Barrel length, gas port size and location, buffer weight, buffer spring, BCG weight, ambient temperatures, suppressed /un-suppressed and ammunition type. This is no easy task! It was very well machined and finished and once I got the plunger size it needed runs like a Swiss watch! Surprised you found my small channel and thanks for what I believe to be the best adjustable on the market!

I think I've seen most of the KZfaq videos on this product. This is the first one that even mentions the separate range adjustments. From everything I've seen online about this product, I was under the impression that it was a fully adjustable gas block from low to highest settings. Nowhere was it ever mentioned that a physical addition of a spacer was required to access another spectrum of adjustment. Sort of deffeats the purpose of an adjustable gas block when you have to disassemble the muzzle of your rifle to add a spacer. Thanks. Just made my decision on adjustable gas blocks: SUPERLATIVE ARMS. Riflespeed has deliberately not disclosed this "two-stage", requirement of their product, that's disingenuous and a bit deceptive. I don't do business with companies who practice deceptive marketing .

Since this video they have added additional plunger sizes for tuning and the spacer for Range Settings #2 is no longer required. You have full adjustability now on the #1 Range Settings so #2 is no longer needed.

The Riflespeed gas block is pricey, but worth it, in my opinion.

It's very well machined! RifleSpeed testing showed that the rifles they were using for testing wore out before their gas block did! That's their claim anyway. I'm thinking the original issue I had with the surplus NATO hold open on the last round was the incorrect gas tube length not the setup with the RifleSpeed. I'm taking the rifle back out soon in the same exact configuration other than the new longer gas tube so I will be able to tell whether it's the chicken or the egg. If it does the same thing I will try shorter plungers or get into the "Range 2" adjustment of the RifleSpeed. Thanks for watching and commenting Malcolm!

@@peteregger7928 I need to find my RS box and locate the washer for "Range 2" I had completely forgotten about that. I have mine on a 12.5" 300 Blackout barrel and find that it works fine without the extra washer, but who knows what the future will bring with different ammo. Looking forward to the next range day vid.

@@malcolmpalm Malcolm, the washer has to be purchased separately which I failed to mention in the video and I may have had viewers think that it was included! My bad! I don't know why RifleSpeed does not include it with the gas block. He states in his instructions that during all their testing that the two plungers provided and operating in "Range 1" had all their test rifles functioning with full adjustability and of course that does not apply to my rifle! Lol! Couldn't really add any cost to the kit so why not just provide it?

I bought one for my 5.56 gtw build. They are nice, but one has to greatly study and dive into how it works. Mine did not lock back with stock plungers, had to order new ones. 🤦‍♂️

I just did a new video on that very thing! I had to go down two plunger sizes! It works great now but like you're saying it may not with the included plungers. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Did you see the AR10 lower that takes FAL magazines?
@peteregger7928
@peteregger7928 Жыл бұрын
Haven't seen that yet? I believe the AR10B used converted surplus M-14 and the AR10A uses the LR version like the DPMS pattern. I'm still a newbie on the large caliber AR's. I still have two of the four FN FAL's that I built so I do have quite a few FAL magazines.

Kinda Of A Neat Set Up😊 Pete But Not Sure Why There Would Be a Need To Adjust The Gas Unless Running a Suppressor It Just Seems To Be Overly Complicated Way To Achieve Diminishing Returns That Would Take Too Much Time Too Adjust In The Heat Of a Hunt or Combat 😩 But For a Target Precision Shooter It Could Be a Good Thing

Good points! I'm trying to get the rifle to shoot soft with the hotter 308 but still function well with the surplus NATO of which I have quite a bit. Before I built this thing my understanding was that large caliber AR platforms had no MilSpec standardization and were much more finicky about the type of ammunition. All of that turned out to be true! Lol! I didn't want to be relegated to using a specific type of ammunition because of a fixed non-adjustable gas system. My thoughts at the time were to avoid different size buffer weights, springs and BCG weights and being able to tune the gas down from the hotter stuff would be easier. The RifleSpeed is tool less and could be adjusted while firing if one hand was free in literally one second. It's not really a necessity but I thought the option couldn't hurt? For 5.56 I would have no need for it unless I was running a can. Also, I can talk myself into just about anything! Lol!

This gas block is really useful with handloads and different factory ammo extremes. Outside temperatures also effect the your gas system and Riflespeed offers the customization to compensate. Bit pricey though
