56:41 2 different oblivion rings is a bit of an understatement, off the top of my head there’s already: journey to nowhere, assimilated aegis, buried in the garden, lassoed by the law, mystical tether and I’m probably missing a couple

Having Snakeskin Veil whenever your opponent doesn't want you to feels really good. Had op bounce their Mystical Tether off of the white fairy that gets a counter, and then snakeskin veil the creature they tried to exile as they played it again

Skated right over Return the Favor's best feature: copying triggered abilities. Copy Double Down's triggered ability. Copy + redirect journey to nowhere/leyline binding/detention sphere. Copy Greed's Gambit ETB. Copy Vaultborn Tyrant dies trigger. Tons of way more useful and interesting interactions than lightning bolt.

I was unavailable to attend the Prerelease here, but at a commander night last week, a new friend was sitting across from me, and wanted to roll on a collector booster. Opened Force of Vigor and a special frame Vault Tyrant. Everyone was so excited for him, and the good vibes were immaculate.

Always love the magic content. As of recent, especially enjoyed the quad Intimidation Campaign draft Graham and Adam did. Gotta respect a draft where you just take the shot and try and live the dream. :)

So what I'm hearing is, we need a runback of the legendary Theros(?) draft where (I think it was) Graham and James forced every single two drop and won. Excuse my uncertainty, my memory is about as good as I am at drafting Thunder Junction. 3-3 😅

I’ve played 2 drafts so far. Similar decks both times. Selesnya mounts and Naya mounts. Went 5 & 3 and then 2 & 3. Looking forward to more. Thanks for the engaging video.

My first two drafts followed a similar pattern although with a great focus in Boros. I did get to splash in Bristly Bill which, when not immediately answered, was fantastic.

I think there is some psychology behind reaction time being faster than intentional movement, so if both duelists are of equal approximate skill the second one to draw will actually manage to shoot first.

I think the Quickdraw flavour fail is that if you let your opponents quickdraw resolve before playing yours, *then* the 'slower' quickdraw outguns the first played.

This is an interesting set. I was kind of skeptical of the theme but since this set came out, I’ve been rewatching a ton of old westerns and having fun building around these cards.

So with Quick draw, if your opponent casts it first, you let it resolve so their creature gets first strike, and then cast your copy to remove it again. So you can win with the second quick draw.

I've drafted 1 (one) round of OTJ. My favourite moment was using Return the Fabour's two sprees to make my opponent pay 2 and tap their Sterling Keykeeper and tap down 2 of their own non-mount blockers and swing for lethal

I had a great time with this set at prerelease and while I haven't had the repetitions to back it up, my experience lines up with yours. Had some strong cards but nothing too ridiculous, just a solid two color deck that put in work, and despite all the bombs in the format I think that deck was my best showing yet.

I've done several Arena drafts and my feeling of the set is it's fun, but the sheer bulk of cards in the main set, Big Score, breaking news, and special guest can be overwhelming. That said, I got my first 7 win draft this set doing BlueGreen Ramp stuff. Bonny Pall is a crazy card.

As one of the few people who liked the first Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider movie, I will fully acknowledge there is a good deal bad with it, but I honestly thought they nailed the esthetic of the character perfectly for a superhero movie of its time.

Fun fact: You're right, only one of the Outlaw's Merriment tokens is actually an outlaw, and interestingly, that token also commits a crime on ETB! That token committing a crime is what makes the card eligible to be on the bonus sheet in the first place.

I've only gotten partway through one draft on Arena so far, but this format feels... Just refreshing, in a way. I don't think I see myself getting burnt out/bored of it quickly like the last few sets have done, hopefully I'm right

Laughing Jasper Flint is a capital-P Problem, in my experience. A member of my Commander playgroup had added him to one of their decks and the other player didn't see the problem until after the second turn rotation (after which he Went Away before his player's upkeep).

I've really been enjoying this limited so far. They did a good job of making mechanics that aren't particularly powerful but supporting them with cards that are generically strong but still compliment those mechanics.

What makes the mechanics not powerful? Most mechanics are as powerful as individual cards with that mechanic are, as in they can be weak or busted. Very few mechanics like Dredge are inherently strong.

I’ve played 2 prerelease and a draft and got the Gitrog in a prerelease and draft and it’s done some heavy lifting. Especially with the mana dork for mounts, getting a 6/5 trample haste out on turn 3 is bonkers in limited

Per Jolene: she was also in the New Capenna Commander decks with a treasure theme. I've built a Jolene Commander deck that plays basically all of the Act of Treason type cards. It's so fun to play and the new Jolene is in there for sure. Roxanne too for good measure.

Of the drafts I have done so far, Rakdos Mercs has been really nice to me so far. A lot of little guys that curve nicely into the bigger mercs like overzealous muscle and hellspur brute

Thinking back on my experience with Outlaws of Thunder Junction I feel this is a set where variance may play a bigger part. Sometimes you may get your opponent to deck, sometimes you get decked, more often either you or your oppponent get to snowball and there is less of a game to play. That is not to say that there aren't good games in this format, because I have had several in both draft and sealed, only that I feel like I experience more downs where variance could be called the cause than I have for the previous set. When that doesn't happen the set is awesome, especially in Traditional.

I think Slickshot Lockpicker may be my favourite card from this set. I've been able to flashback a fractured identity, a hypothesizzle, and a repulse for a tremendous amount of value. I was very lucky to get two in my paper draft this weekend!

With all of the things that can be opened in this set, drafting is a WILD experience. I am unsure if this is a good thing or bad thing, but it is certainly on theme.

Whoever plays the second quick draw does win (provided they wait for the first to resolve first). It really should have the text "no other spells named Quick draw may be cast this turn" or something to that effect that works within the rules.

The card that dumpstered me the hardest in my limited Limited experience with this set was that pseudo-Hexproof Sphinx with Flash. That card's messed up in Limited. The card that has done the most work for me is Laughing Jasper Flint. Green seems very powerful, especially with such a large amount of Green removal. All hail Borb Snorse 🙏

played in 2 prereleases total as of now, and can safely say removal is more crucial here than in any other set before just because of the sheer volume of it. the beaters might not be the best we’ve ever seen (even if they are still fantastic) but if your opponent kills all your things and you dont kill any of theirs, well, womp womp.

Aven interruptor is really strong when someone cast a spell you own (like with Laughing Jasper Flint) You make them spend ressource and it give you a spell for free.
