I really like original clocks - round, with conventional dial faces and physical needles, housed in a case with a glass secured by a bezel. On a high end build like this, why not do something different with the instrument glass? If you fit a variable ND optical filter instead of clear glass, the instrument can be dimmed by rotating the bezel. This means the dial face can be a super bright digital backlit display, and the physical needle can be a super bright LED driven by a digital stepper motor. Dimming or brightening the instrument is fun, and intuitive like filament bulbs controlled by a rheostat.

Hey Pete the way you talked about the A. C. In the trunk, what about putting the cam shaft sensor in the back? If the drive shaft is always turning you can put it Back there too. Just a thought I love your car. Love your work. Maybe 1 day we can meet.
@GregQuirin3 ай бұрын
Thank you! The camshaft sensor was challenging on this one. The cam sensor wouldn’t work off the driveshaft as it need to be 1/2 the speed of the crankshaft and perfectly in phase with the mechanical timing. Usually the camshaft position sensor on an LS three engine is in the timing cover triggered off of the sprocket. However, that was all changed out differently for the overhead cam conversion and none of the existing LS three cam timing architecture remained in place. I was able to do some research and find out where the Crank and cam sensor correlation was on a stock LS three, and I was able to find the exact spot to make it work for Pete.
@petercarbin20773 ай бұрын
@GregQuirin I am disabled. I can barely leave my place. But I would love to pick up brain and see that engine and how you have it set up. I have so much in my mind. I can't explain it to you cause I'm using voice text and I'm dislexic, but I was very fascinated by your video keep. Good work I don't know without heavy machine and being done on the cam. You might be able to run it on the other end of the cam that will bring it into the firewall Make it easier to hide. Since you have barely any room for a hood if you do so. But please do keep making the vid.You are one of the few people were actually Respond when I write to them. Most people Do not even respond unless you donate money. PS what about using The flywheel and put the sensor on that.? I think That Good work. On another thought.-,, what's .bout the hermanic balancer if you have room there. Just an idea, good luck. Let me know what you think. Good idea, Bad ideas. Good or bad you learn from them. So please keep me Informed. Thank you.

Yes there’s always gonna be something else that makes more power you could drop in. However, Pete and Kevin are true innovators and hot rodders. They have been doing this for a while. @kevinbraun62723 ай бұрын
Both the Coyote and the Northstar can make good horsepower, but they are both long stroke small bore configurations. We like shorter stroke and larger bore. It makes more horsepower.
@ImperatorCaesar227 күн бұрын
@@kevinbraun6272That’s not true. The Coyote is a square engine, equal bore and stroke, and the northstar, even in its reduced displacement race versions, was always oversquare with a larger bore, which is part of what allowed it to rev to 6400 rpm or higher when modified. The northstar isn’t really a bad engine at its core, they just designed the system as a whole poorly to where it had horrible reliability in most cases
