When LS was announced as C9 head coach I made a decision to watch all C9 games...Guess now it's back to LEC/LPL for me.

the worse part is C9 probably got berserk and most of the players on LS's recommendation and some nepotism from Joe Marsh for LS to sell Berserker. The whole team was made for LS and then kick LS after C9 convince him to move across the earth?

I have been a C9 fan since 2013 and have gotten used to the swift kick in the balls everytime we get hope. After the whole jack tweeting regi is actually a good dude I was on the fence. Then C9 got LS. The content was fire, the team was awesome, the drafts were hype. When LS got the boot, I decided I'm pretty done with the org. TL take the split easily.

I mean, it's crazy how in the span of 3 weeks C9 went from the most interesting and beloved team, from being curch9, to being regarded as a shitshow and branded by the community as clown9. And I hope fans honestly make them accountable for what they did, you can't just keep doing moves that your fanbase don't agree with, give no explanation and then keep going like nothing happened. Fans need to leave C9 if they dislike what they did, and make them see the backlash. Sadly they will probably forget everything if C9 just wins.

Tbh, I didn't even know that ls was released by c9 by the time i was watching c9 vs clg, in addition when i saw their draft i was immediately taken back to why it seemed so generic/normal and i thought that something was wrong. I just hope for the best for LS he really is a good coach as shown in the c9 bts, he showed great chemistry with almost all the players and staffs. I really love his drafts and different approach to the game. I really thought that c9 could make it to worlds grand finals or something. Such a shame to see this situation happen to a great person.

Now NA can continue playing the same passive way every game and occasionally flame Tarzaned when he points out frame by frame how dogshit this region is.

Everyone who watched Doublelift's podcast with LS ans Caedrel knows that this was probably LS's last shot at coaching Even more so because he probably won't ever find a team that can be structured around him and with players that listen to his insights like C9 was

People from other regions actually wanted to watch lcs for once in their life just because of LS. Bringing in off meta comps but just steam rolling just due to draft was fun to watch. The first game back was right back to where everyone else is. The same repetitive picks with bad gameplay. Could just be that there was only a few hours before the game and all players were out of wack but man its looking awful.

LS brought a breath of fresh air to an otherwise stale region. I have a hard time believing that LS did something truly horrendous behind the scenes, so that leaves very few options and not really any that looks good for C9... Personal despute or politics... My interest in c9 (and most of my interest in LCS) this split was to see how LS' immense theoretical game knowledge translated into practical in-game scenarios. I wanted to see the experiment play out irrespective of whether I wanted to see LS succeed. Now it's just back to a garbage hype-less league sorry...

The only reason I watched LCS before was for TL (mainly CoreJJ), but this season I was so excited to watch LS. I had some of the most fun watching C9 games and their drafts. The fans deserve to know what happened. LS was the reason so many people started watching C9 in the first place, and for them to drop LS so suddenly is irritating to so many fans, not to mention the whole team was built around LS.

I can't say I'm horribly surprised that LS didn't make it all year as coach, since the little I know about him he's always had personal struggles whether it was health or mental health related. That being said the way this seems to have gone down is way different than I thought it would be and I'm massively disappointed. I'm a C9 fan so I'll still be rooting for the team but this whole thing just feels awful. LS made me excited to watch every week to see the crazy picks and strategies he would come up with. I was excited to see how his style would look after a couple months with the team and hopefully on the worlds/international stage. He said he had more unique/crazy picks ready for this week and the game today we picked nothing but meta. I guess its back to boring drafts again, which wouldn't have felt so bad if we never had LS in the first place. Now I know how things could have been, rip LS you will be missed. (and please god, there better have been a good reason for getting rid of him, I'll be pissed if its something really stupid)

I think that based on the timing, which was basically 4 hours before the game, that this happened due to outside pressure, a "LS doesnt go on stage, or else...."-Situation. I doubt that C9 is happy with the decision or that there was actual beef between LS and the Team, especially based on how they acted in-game. I dont think its just due to LS´ behaviour towards the other teams, cause Max would have been just as screwed. Good news is, even if he doesnt make Head Coach again, these last 2 weeks established him as someone who knows what he is doing and especially in KR seems to have turned quite a few doubters around, im sure if nothing else he could just go back to T1, it doesnt look like Joe would let him down like that.

Got me omega fucked up. LS coaching c9 was my reason for actually watching LCS games as they happen for the first time in years. Been a huge fan of LS since season 6. Idk what reasoning for his release would be any less of a gut punch other than it being severely health or family related.

At the end of the day this just proves that C9 (the org, not the players) didn't deserve LS. So many players in so many teams have adopted ideas from LS over the past few years so I still believe there is hope for LS as a team coach and I really hope he does find a team that appreciates his work ethic and ideas. So many teams would be lucky to have him

People are forgetting that max is LS's apprentice. He was coached by LS for at least a year, and they both share very similar views on the game. That draft was extremely odd for someone like max, and I don't think its too far out of the question to say that the entire team isn't in a good mental space.

Im pretty sure C9 and LCS sponsors are sending some questionmakrs to Jack now... If they do not come out with a solid reason they will lose a lot of fans. I am pretty sure C9 was building a big f anbase around the globe, and now they throw it out the window with a big part of the base fanbase too...

He’s completely right it’s the brand LS brought and especially the early success they had and fun drafts. It’s like when Berg left TSM, I lost all attachment to TSM, I even stuck around an extra year just cause he was the coach. But can’t believe C9 and even LCS and RIOT let this happen, and couldn’t find a way to make it work because it affects all of their brands in NA. Ppl were exited about NA again! And there was a team to compete with TL through creativity, and even the potential at worlds!

Maybe this is why they held on onto Zven and most of their good ass academy team, contingency plan for if they get rid of LS and then need to bench the Koreans when they stop playing well because the reason they joined is gone. This isn’t the first time c9 has pulled some scumfuckery (sneaky back in 2016-2018)- they have a history of Scamaz. Team is no longer enjoyable to watch, LS changed the meta.

LS was the only reason I watch C9 this year. His style of coaching is different and it brought back the fun in the LCS. His willingness and daring strategies are really fun to watch and he got rid of the BORING LCS gameplay. He really tried to bring back the NEW and the FUN back in League of Legends though his coaching. this is very disappointing on C9's part. C9, you are a disappointment to the game of League of Legends after this. You really fucked a person when he had to decide to change his life to follow his passion to make the game fun and enjoyable again. Not that I have been keeping up with all League of Legends around the world, but LS strikes me as a coach that has a unique perspective on the game, and makes weird picks and strategies work. Seems a lot like like how G2 was looked upon at their greatest back in 2018-2019. I would love to see those forces amplify each other and make a team who does weird stuff that just works. Even though personally I am not a G2 fan. I would love to see if they could "go back to their roots" and spark hire LS as coach. Just to spice up the league. I like the narritive Caedrel had of LS joining another team and stomping C9.

Max Waldo is also basically just a LS pupil. He learned everything from him, so it cant have to do with coaching approach necessarily. He is a capable coach when he works WITH LS, but he isnt capable without him. "If we dont go 2-0 against CLG and TSM, something is seriously wrong." WELL that prophecy is already fulfilling LOL.

Haven't watched any C9 games (will never watch the region unless something massive changes that would move them from a wildcard region), but I'm pretty confident that the problem was LS being hard to deal with by most players.

My wild guess about the situation is the Behind The Scenes video has to do with something. I was a fan of watching the video and looking at LS saying ''I don't know what they were doing with this draft (referring to opposite team)'' but imo that was the limit of criticizing, in the last video at one part he just straight up denigrated PowerOfEvil, TSM (Especially the midlaner), and CLG, meaning that these players and orgs just got their value of the floor, its the same situation that happened (i dont remember if 2020 or 2019) with Leena saying ''nobody wants Dardoch'' you can't just straight up say that someone or some org is trash just because you think it. Imagine if someone like Steph Curry or LeBron go to a press conference and someone asks them what to they think about the Houston Rockets (atm the worst team in the NBA) and they say something like ''I think my son could play better than them'' or something like that, and I compare this big figures to LS because lets be honest, the ''franchise figure'' of the team right before all the scandal was LS, and everybody wanted to see him (either lose or win). Why even bother watching the LCS anymore? This was the first time in a very long time I was actually excited to watch a region again (outside of LCK). C9 brought out these really cool comps designed to change our perspective of league, which it did for me at least. I felt for the first time in a long time as an NA player we are finally going to have a world caliber team in C9 who isnt afraid to be bold in the way they play. I like team liquid, but what is even remotely close to their competition now? EG and 100T? TL will probably go to worlds this year they will probably go 3-3 or maybe make it to quarters only to lose to other eastern teams. RIP the dream

The Travis Gafford interview was weird. I know Max couldn't talk about what happened, but it was like he was avoiding even mentioning LS existed, like he didn't praise LS or say that they will miss him. He could just be covering his bases to not let anything slip, but it felt like the org's sentiment is to pretend LS was never there.

Biggest bitch slap to the face any org has ever done to it's fans as far as I can remember. Regardless of what happened there's no way this was the best way to handle the situation. Literally no one could focus on the game when the announcement came 3 minutes before it started and was followed by complete radio silence. The casters were confused, the players were lost, twitch chat was such a dumpster fire they had to turn emote only on, those same spammers flocked to co streams to spam the same stuff, twitter exploded with confusion. Any respect I had for this organization has pretty much dissipated in the last 24 hours.

I stopped playing and watching League E sports for years. When I saw LS was coming to Coach I started watching again this season. Shame he got the boot so early and my other team TSM is a joke now too it seems.

I dont like LS and think he has a serious victim complex that makes him kind of a cuastic asshole...but I was still hyped to watch and see if he could back up his wild fucking statements and promises. In part I kinda wanted to see C9 lose but it was still interesting and his drafts were fucking out there and somehow worked. Credit where it is due. I am baffled C9 gave him the boot like this with 0 context since they set up so much branding and put so much importance on his being there.

It must be really hard being an LCS fan tbh. All they do is bring in big names to get X amount of fans per season without ever once it being helpful in the long run for the teams. And the constant cycle of these players/coaches is not doing them a favor either, because we have ended up in teams being supported because of the players and not the teams themselves. Just like the NBA, sacrifice the soul of the game/sport for entertainment. Was really hyped for LS and C9 and rivalry with TL this season.
