Swwt video, could you send me part # to the shifter linkage plz
@darenwinckler70275 ай бұрын
The shifter linkage is actually just a throttle rod. It's a thick wall tubing that 1/4 heim joints screw into. And I made a bracket for it to pivot off of on the transmission.

Great info, I am doing a 6.0 in a 95 ford. For the drive by cable you have, were you able to used the ford cable, or did you mod the chevy cable to the ford pedal? Thanks!

I wasn't getting notifications for messages. Sorry wasn't ignoring your question. But I made a video on that very question a month or 2 ago. But I used the stock cable. Just took a little fabbing.

I respect that. I have a go-pro I've used. It works better. Just I suck at editing or uploading from it. It's just so simple I guess, to grab the phone and hold it upright. But I'll try to remember next time man.

Why not use the gm radiator?
@darenwinckler702710 ай бұрын
The biggest reason, I was being cheap. The radiator in the truck was already new & a heavy duty. So I just used what I had, hoping it would work. And it has done good so far. Never have had any cooling problems yet.

What did you do for your gauge did you just use the Ford temp and oil sensor

Hey bud, picking a LM7/4L60 for the wifes bronco. Ford shift pattern is PRD21 with OD as a button. 60Es pattern is PROD,D21. How did you hookup the factory column shift and how did you make the pattern work or are you not able to shift down to 1 gear?
@darenwinckler70273 жыл бұрын
I had this covered in one of the video's I did. But I just made a some spacers to hold the factory bracket to the 4l60e transmission. And used 1/4 hime joints to connect from the column linkage to the trans. Only problem I have, is where my exhaust is. It keeps me from pulling all the way down to Low manually.
@tjg8413 жыл бұрын
@@darenwinckler7027 Pulling down to 1st is what I was wondering about, the chevy pattern is obviouls p r od d 2 1 and the 95 broncos is prd21 so I dodnt know if there would be enough travel and how the notches in the steering column would line uo to be able to get down to 1st. The 95 is cable shifted too. I think they switched in 94 to cable.

@@darenwinckler7027 using those gm gauges does it indicate correctly what gear you’re in?
@darenwinckler70273 жыл бұрын
@@tjg841 yes it indicates correctly. You'll have to get a wiring diagram for what ever vehicle you used everything from. Because R-D-3-2-1 all indicated through the serial data line. But P & N are on their own wires & have to be wired into the cluster. A good wiring diagram of the cluster harness & ECU harness is a must for figuring this out.

Looks good! What did you do about the power steering lines?
@darenwinckler70272 жыл бұрын
Had to hand make them. Luckily they are flared like a brake line. But I took the factory line from the GM pump. And the factory line from the Ford. Spliced them with a hydraulic splice. So that the GM would go to the Ford style at the power steering gear. But I did a video on this. I think it's even in the title. Look it up on my channel. Because you'll need to install a regulator in line.

@darenwinckler70273 жыл бұрын
Getting the power plant in and where I wanted it, didn't take but a few beers and couple nights after work. But all the little stuff like fuel system, wiring, exhaust, cooling system & power steering, that's what all took the longest. But in total, it took about 6 maybe 8 weeks.

What motor mounts did you get because I have the same truck and I wanna put a 5.3 but don’t know what motor mount.
@darenwinckler7027 Жыл бұрын
If you know how to weld. Your best bet is to get a universal engine mount kit. They're less than $100 on summit. But I built mine out if 1/8 plate & jeep control arm's.

how did you go about 4l60e connecting to ford drive shaft
@darenwinckler7027 Жыл бұрын
Had to use a new drive shaft. The 4l60e was shorter then the e4od that came out the truck. But what is crazy. The drive shaft that's in the truck now. Is out of a late 90's early 2000's chevy truck. The u-joints were the same size. So hit the salvage yard & do some measuring. You might find one that'll work. That'll save a bunch of money. New drive shafts will cost around $400
@tjg8413 жыл бұрын
So I noticed your factory tach is still working, how did you get a signal for that?
@darenwinckler70273 жыл бұрын
Actually that is the instrument cluster out of the avalanche. It was easier & cheaper for me to use that, Than buy sending units and make the factory gauges work.

What headers did you use?
@darenwinckler70276 ай бұрын
I used the original manifolds. But after looking, I believe newer truck headers would work. I tried F body headers. But the rubbed the frame. Truck headers are tucked in closer to the block.

@RobertThomas-ju6ee4 жыл бұрын
Cool video I'm going to swap my 91 soon what did you do about fuel?
@darenwinckler70274 жыл бұрын
Ran all new fuel lines. Took out the side tank. And just upgraded the intake pump in the rear tank. But there isn't much you can do with the factory plastic fuel line's. So I removed the factory one-way wave off the pressure side. Used some 3/8 efi fuel line. And run all new pressure and return line to the engine.
@RobertThomas-ju6ee4 жыл бұрын
Cool thanks I was thinking about welding in a sump in the rear tank and running a inline pump but might look into your idea.
@darenwinckler70274 жыл бұрын
@@RobertThomas-ju6ee the only reason I didn't use a sump. Was because I wanted to keep my spare tire back there. Because of all the stereo in the bed. I didn't want to just throw the spare in the bed.
@RobertThomas-ju6ee4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have 2 different size tires on my truck and haven't had a spare tire for awhile now lol. Did you do anything to the rear end I know they sell a 31 spline conversion kit for the 8.8.
@darenwinckler70274 жыл бұрын
No. I put a limited slip in it and a 3.27 gear. 8.8 are pretty strong already. As long as I keep the factory sized tire on it. It'll spin way before it breaks anything.

Can a carb 87 302 be swapped into a 97 f150
@darenwinckler70272 жыл бұрын
Anything is possible, but I don't think it'll bolt right in. The 5.0 & 4.6 engine's are very different. So the mounts will all be different, locations will be different. Then the fuel, ignition & transmission side of it are going to be something else you'd have to try & figure out. So unless it's something you just really want to do. I think I'd stick another 4.6 in it.

Most of these trucks wind up in salvage yards because the engine controls wind up being too complicated for most people. Eec worked good 30 years ago. I'd rather see a carburetor or an LS in one than see it getting crushed and turned into a Hyundai
