Great video! I remember, as a child, travelling with my family from Waterloo to Sidmouth in the summer of 1966 to start a rather wet summer holiday. We changed to the DMU at Sidmouth Junction and it was a treat to sit behind the window into the driving compartment and see the line ahead, all the Devon scenery and the interesting stations. For me, that was the best bit of the holiday.

Sidmouth Railway Station c1950 / 60s was an impressive looking railway station and served Sidmouth very well for many years. The line from Sidmouth Junction via Exmouth to Exeter should have remained open and increased to double track which the track bed and infrastructure allowed for. At least today Exmouth still has the branch line open from Exeter. Sidmouth must have lost a lot of tourist trade over the years due to the loss of the railway?

There won’t be any trains 🚊 that will run 🏃♂️ from Sidmouth Junction to Sidmouth via Ottery St Mary and Tipton St Johns anymore because more have their own cars 🚗 🚙 🚘 that they drive everyday. I don’t think 🤔 that the trains 🚊 will run 🏃 to Sidmouth anymore. It’s highly unlikely thing to happen because there are roads covered over the former railway 🚃 track 🛤️ . In east Devon, it’s a rural area. Feniton railway 🚃 station 🚉 has a single railway 🚃 track 🛤️ since Sunday 11th June 1967 for 56 years. I think 🤔 that the railway 🚃 had sadly lost 😠 a lot of money 💸 💵 💰 💷 💶 💴 🪙 because there were lack of railway 🚃 customers that previously used the trains 🚆 everyday. It’s now a thing of the past and won’t be coming back again anymore. Hip,hop hooray 😄 , hip hop hooray 😁, hip hop hooray 😃, no more of trains 🚊 to been seen in Sidmouth anymore. 👍👍👍👍👍
