Ive watched almost every luba video I could find, and this was the best so far.

Hey thanks for the comment. I hope it helps with your decision and if you have any questions about the unit I'll try to answer the best I can from my own experiences.

.43 I was sitting on my Troy built when the transmission failed 4 years ago. I pulled out my phone right there in the middle of the yard and found Landroid. After 4 years I am ready to try Luba. Robots are great.

It took me a while with my luba to figure out a few things that I could change to improve the way Luba mowes. If you look at your video from 8:40 to 9:40 you will see that, even though your fence is straight, your Luba keeps going left and right. Stopping, reversing turning and continuing. Taking up time instead of mowing in a straight line next to the fence. Next year I am going to re-map my areas together with my daughter. She is going to be pulling Luba with a string next to my border line so that all i will be doing is pushing the forward button on the app. You see, when we map our areas, we keep correcting out straight lines with a little bit of left and a little bit of right corrections on our apps. Luba then remembers these jagged lines for all future years it will be mowing. At the beginning I thought Luba was stupid, but all it was doing was repeating my stupid mapping. Just like your's is doing next to your fence. That's why mowing borders takes so long. Once Luba finishes our stupid mapping of the borders, it's much faster doing it's straight lines. When mapping use Left and Right buttons only when you really need to turn. Of course - I might be wrong - I'll find out in spring.

Thanks for the comment. I thought it did that repositioning because it was driving on a hill. I might try remapping also next season.

You need 2 Luba mowers. That would be slick for your yard. You raise a good question about the battery. What do you do when it fails? I hope Mammotion does not consider this a throw away mower after the battery dies. Good video. Finally, Roomba does vacuum in straight lines now. Get yourself a Roomba J7 this black Friday. You will be impressed on how good the J7 is.

If only I could justify 2. LOL! I might just have to wait until my channel grows and see if they will send me a "Review Item" 😂 . I'll have to look into the J7.

I've been watching several reviews over this past 2023 summer. i have my goal set to invest in the 3000 model. I live in the WV area with some coarse grass. Due to severe allergies and unable to handle our heat, I have been hiring lawn services, both professional and high school levels. I can never get anyone to last more than a couple seasons. I need someone that doesn't up their fees each year to $120 a week. Ugh! Thanks for the review and your personal opinion. It is an investment!

I hope the review helped. I have some high grass that is able to maintain. Hopefully it works out for you. It shouldn’t have any issues with the hills.

I will say, Luba struggles if grass gets too long. It still cuts without issue but it will unquestionably miss pieces of grass. Luba shines because you can run it 2-3 times a week over the same area making it so the lawn never gets out of control long. I run mine almost every other day, day 1 is the backyard, day 2 frontyard, and day 3/4 might be no mowing depending on growth before repeating the cycle. With that said, the deciding factor may be your yard. How large of a yard? How much tree cover if any? Dense tree cover or is it sparse? Fenced in yard or no? If you're paying $100+ per week the Luba pays for itself within a year. It's not perfect but for ~$2,000 it's nice. If you do want bulletproof and don't mind a higher price tag, $6,000-10,000 depending on if you get the snow and leaf blower attachments as well as the mower attachment, the Yarbo theoretically is perfect.

@@cameronnelson213 hey thanks for the input. Very good info. I have a 0.8 acre total lot. Less when considering the house, large drive and several landscaping no-go zones. I value your help and comments. Thanks.

Don't know if it was just me but even on 100 volume I had no clue what you were saying as it was far too quite, with CC wasn't a big deal but your review is well done. As someone with dogs, I as well wish there was a good way to have a passthrough lane that worked well. Currently I just move my charging station to the front and let it do it's thing. My front takes about 4-6hrs with recharges and definitely can't leave my gate open for that long. An inconvenience but still 10x better than mowing! Last thing I'd add is for others considering getting the Luba. It is frustrating! You will need a week of trial and error before you really understand it. Here's a few things I wish I knew before I set mine up. 1. RTK location is paramount! If RTK is in the backyard it will struggle in the front if the RTK is too close to your house. Two best spots for the RTK are, your attic or highest point of your roof. 2. The RTK signal can go through asphalt shingles and plywood, making the attic a great place to get access to all satellites your yard has. 3. No matter how hard you try the Luba will not be able to do 100% of your yard, so don't expect it to. You'll have to weedwhip, push mow, or use the manual mow to get the areas that have no signal or are too close to fences/house. 4. If you're in a place that has a 'winter' or any freezing, the RTK might need to be brought in every freeze season, which does require you to remap the yard. 5. When mapping slow is smooth. It's better to be 6" off the edge of your yard and be straight then be right on the edge and not having straight lines. The is important on the side of the house and with fences. Luba will end up having the bump sensor go off and having a lot of turns in that area, leading to grass getting destroyed. Again, great review and hopefully people watch your review. One of the better ones out there and very honest. Luba is 100% worth it if you understand it's a 90% solution and not 100% solution.

Thanks so much for the comments! I wasn't sure about the audio, on some devices it was fine and on others, it was very low. I have fixed this with my other videos but I'll be more mindful. I hope to have my gate system completed soon. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to move the charging station but I might try it next season. I agree with you that it can at times be frustrating. Mine is still digging the lawn on one small section that it needs to make a shallow turn and gets stuck 😐 I am going to try to map my yard again at the beginning of next season at a slower speed to see if this resolves some of my issues. With all of the downfalls I'm still glad to have it and the extra time it gives me on my weekends. 👍

@@wilmerwoodworks Couldn't agree more! Definitely not a big issue moving it to the front. Just need to drive the Luba and carry the base to where ever you want it to charge. Put the Luba on the charger and select the relocate charger option. Not having to mow is a great freedom! Enjoy it.

Gonna jump right in, you said in the "Pro's" column, "No More Mowing". Thats almost true. Depending on how strong your GPS Signals are to the RTK Ref Antenna & the Luba Mower, the Edging accuracy is 50cm to 150cm (2 to 6 inches). That means ALL edging needs to get cut down w/ a String Trimmer. You Still have some labor to dedicate to mowing. Also, on the "Con's" side, there are NO parts listings, or Illustrated Parts Catalog for the Luba. There's a Luba Reviewer on KZfaq who had his Luba standing on its rear tires to show the Undercarriage. The Mower slipped from his grip and he let the Front End drop to pavement. It broke the Front Axle Housing into several pieces because it's made from Cast Aluminum, which isn't known for its strength. He spent Days dismantling the Front Axle which required De-soldering some wiring from the Control circuit board. It was NOT an easy fix. Mammotion refused to sell him a new Front Axle housing at first, but after some back & forth, they finally relented. The reassembly was not for anybody except an experienced and skilled mechanic and took days. Parts for this Luba Mower aren't anywhere to be found, so you are Forced to box it up and pay the freight to a Repair Center. That said, as of the time of this comment, the Original Luba Robotic Mower is Obsolete. Mammotion and Amazon are dumping inventory of the Original Luba at near "Black Friday" prices amounting to savings of $ Hundreds of Dollars. Mammotion announced "Pre-Sales" of the Luba 2 in early January 2024 w/ deliveries beginning in February. The Robot Engineers at Mammotion have aggressively tackled the "Achilles Heal" issue w/ the original, "Positioning Errors". IOW, the Mowers GPS Receiver will easily find itself in spots where the number of Usable GPS Satellites drops below 20. Thats when the mower Stops Mowing w/ the Original. GPS Signals are Weak, it's why you must have "Clear Sky" at 45 degrees overhead, in all directions. GPS Signals below 45 degrees are weakened by Atmosphere and are unusable. This Antenna Positioning requirement means that the RTK Ref Antenna will only get clear GPS Signals from 31 Satellites max, if positioned properly. The Mowers receiver is prone to GPS Signal dropouts because it's mobile and moves alongside buildings, fences, big R/V's, power lines etc. All these obstacle's generate interference for GPS Signals and as soon as either the Ref Antenna or Luba Mower drop to 19 GPS Satellites, all mowing stops until the Mower & Antenna re-acquires 20 Satellites. The Luba 2 uses a "Stereo" Camera" (two lenses for aiding in distance measurements), mounted on the body to aid in Navigation, aka, the 3D Vision+RTK Fusion-mapping System. When Sat Signals drop below 20, the Camera, Ultrasonic Sensors & object detection bumper takes over Navigation until the 20 Satellite min is achieved again. There are Many other Big improvements like Greatly increased communication range between the RTK Ref Antenna & the Luba Mower, Alexa & Goggle Home compatibility, much greater mowing height options, improved climbing ability, 3 x as many allowable "mowing zones" for each model, easily programable lettering or pattern cuts can now be done into your lawn and you can even watch thru the Camera in Real Time while it's mowing .

Thank you for your detailed comment 🙏 I did mention in my “Final thoughts” 💭 on this review that you would still need to use a trimmer to cleanup the perimeter. It’s not terrible, usually takes me about 45min every 3 to 4 weeks. I have seen some adds for the newer model with the additional bells and whistles, but I think what I have is good enough for my needs. Again thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Luba. I have been considering getting the new Luba 2 and I have about 2 acres to cover. What's throwing me off is that their website shows the different versions ranging from the 0.25acre to 2.5acres, but the specs are otherwise identical. Are they seriously charging $2000 more to unlock more map area in the app? The products seems cool, but that doesn't sit well with me.

Hey thanks 🙏 for watching. I’m not sure about the Luba 2 I think when I was looking into purchasing it was the difference of the battery 🔋 size, not just the maps.

How does it go with your doggies *ahem* leavings? Do you have to do a pre mow clean or do you just let it go?

I just let it go. It ends up just mulching everything in with the grass clippings. Hasn't been a problem yet.

Why did you say it can not cut at night?
@wilmerwoodworks
@wilmerwoodworks 6 ай бұрын
The few times I have run mine at night I wake up in the morning and it gives me a error overload error overnight. The dew gets on the grass and makes the grass wet and it clogs the blades up is what I have found. I have heard that some people have luck running it at night. The few times I have tried it wasn’t worth it.

This is a great review on your experiance and better than most people explian. For your con number 4 - getting lost and confused is nearly always due to the robot not having a good GNSS signal. Hears is a link to a videl I just posted on this. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZlof5iEydHakqc.html As for the tear up of the lawn, this is somehting that LUBA will do if it turns often in soft soils.

Thanks for the comment! I will look into ways to getting a better GNSS signal. I will have to try to enrich my soil in some places and possibly lay some sod before next season for sure. 👍
