Today we are talking to Colin Beever, our Holden Vintage & Classic in-house Lucas Expert about Lucas Electrical (Lucas Industries). We debunk the "Prince of Darkness" myth and show you why it's important to know the era when your component was made.
Colin has over 36 years of technical knowledge. His enthusiasm began when he started working for a classic car parts business and discovered he could modify distributors for different cars. He became fascinated by ignition systems, collecting, taking them apart, reassembling and he accrued so much knowledge he became approached by Lucas Technical to help them with their vintage enquiries.

Can a 1966 Triumph 650cc wiring harness be able to accept a higher output alternator and stator? say a RM19 to a RM 21 with a matching zener diode & rectifier?

If its a push button start you can just change that for an ignition switch, its a straight swap over

Lucas Prince of Darkness only comes from the USA. It was spread to disparage economic imported cars.

@@johnburns4017 Jeremy Clarkson did a feature on late 1970’s US carmaking needless to say it would make some of the British leyland cars look fantastic.
