I'm currently working on creating a Knights of the Old Republic based Mini-Series using Unreal Engine's Virtual Production Capabilities. The first step is creating a trailer sequence as proof of concept before we begin work for the full series.

I would say the same - however, I think Lucasfilm have gotten upset in the past about fan films that are longer than 15 minutes. So staying within the 15 minute limit would be safer. Maybe once the entire KOTOR I series is complete, he could ask Lucasfilm if they have any objection to him stitching all the episodes together to make one long movie, and republishing it in that form.

Genuinely didn't expect Lucasfilm to be as cool with this as they are. A lot of the fan films they gave green lights to really look unprofessional, and unmistakably not Disney, and this project actually looks like something far more impressive than a passion project. Happy to see that it's full steam ahead though, I can't wait to be here when you get it all done. Good luck friend, and may the Force be with you.

I'd like 30-45 min episodes. 15 min episodes would feel too short to me. Just my opinion. But of course you do all this awesome work so you decide 👍

Good stuff! I’m really excited to see more. I’d say you could range up the episode times depending on what the scene and pacing demand. I am really hoping to see some of the companions banter that made the original so much fun.

You either scared them and they hit you with that Cease and desist BS....or....they are gonna request your assistance for a long awaited Kotor remake. (I'm really hoping for the latter and that they give you a fair deal) Edit: Ay, not a complete 'no' 🎉🎉. A little sad it wasn't a game, but I'm completely down for anything Kotor related. Order: do 10-15 minutes episodes and once you are done with them all a full movie with all of them

For the "how to break it up", I would go with Short Episodes as they are released- then once everything is out, release the complete chapters. (So, if each chapter is 30 minutes, release either Four 7 or Three 10 minute episodes- then shortly before the first part of the next chapter is released, drop the complete 30 minute chapter episode, (also to help get people excited for the next chapter). You can also release that full chapter episode sooner for your patrons, to give a small incentive (while, I believe, not breaking the rules).)

As a huge KotOR fan, this is something I've been dying to see! With your talent and passion, I could die a happy man if this was made. That being said, I'd love to see 30 min to 1 hour long episodes. I don't care how long it takes! That way you can try to cram in as much of the amazing story KotOR has to offer in longer episodes than 10-15 mins. Thank you so much and keep up the beautiful work!

I would love to see 30 mins episodes. It would be hard to squeeze 10-15 mins episodes especially Taris and Dantooine, so much is going on in these 2 planets that 30 mins or longer would cover it pretty well. 15 mins would probably be good to cover the rest of the story. I am excited to watch this series when it gets released. Keep up the awesome work.

My progression here, I am starting a twitch/YT playthrough of the game KOTR because its one of my favorites and was going to do a episodic view of the game here on the tube. so my feed is a lot of KOTR as I've been working on that a lot. stumble across this the other day loved it. subscribed immediately. upon further research i found out what unreal engine is and how i could use it myself.. then i saw this video and man are you doing it!! i love to see it man. inspired me to get my ideas and start executing asap.

Longform content is nice, but I have experience in video editing and... yes, if you can find a way to bring out 10-15 slices, that could be better. The lower time would also make it less... intimidating to viewers. If they want a longer timeframe, you can just release later longer spliced-together versions, I guess. Again, much congratulations! Smart to make the Patreon for the channel as a whole & not just the project. The Astartes project's crowdfunding was specifically for the project & Games Workshop shut that down. They did hire the creator, but it seems unlikely they're paying him even close to what he was earning through crowdfunding (which was a lot).

My man, this is a golden opportunity. A lot of fan projects have fallen and not even given the chance of doing their objectives with at least some limitations or rules given by the high command of Lucasfilm through decades. You are now an exception, and a very lucky man. You have been given the opportunity to shine. *We are counting on you. idk, The Mandalorian, Rebels, Clone Wars Season 7, Rogue One, Solo, Battlefront, Squadrons, Fallen Order, the Vader Comics, the High Republic, and countless other books and comics have all been really good.

@@danni3387 @Danni Yeah, so was all the Legends content that stretched through generations of Skywalkers post-episode 6. You know, all of that content that Kathleen Kennedy said "does not exist" as a roadmap for episodes 7-9? Content like the comics where Luke now 'canonically' meets Vader 12 times between episode 4 and 5 is just silly imo. The Mandalorian and Rogue One are fan service done right. Rogue One made every frame matter like Lucas' movies - see Jyn gripping her kyber crystal to mind trick the shield door operator on Scarif. Much cooler and more subtle than Rey's mind trick use in 7...

Como olvidar la ves en que se les paso el detalle de que los Jedi hacen celibato XD Y buenos, a Anakin y Revan les importo un carajo y terminaron creando un Imperio cada uno y dos de los genocidios más grandes de la galaxia XD

@@n7armorring532 pero me refiero a los miembros de la orden Jedi tradicional (antes del Imperio de Palpatine), Luke creo una academia Jedi que tiene diferencias con la original (una era que ya no había celibato) y Leia no era de la orden Jedi. Punto aparte, su hijo Jecen Solo se convirtió en un Lord Sith (Darth Caedus) y termina siendo asesinado por su hermana Jaina.

Just learned about this a few days, and super stoked for it. Glad to see LucasFilm is in support of it, but honestly not too surprised by the news. In the past they have been pretty chill about fan movies and the like, glad to see they still are.

An hour long episode sounds great!!! Not sure how your going to incorporate side quests but it would be cool to see some of the characters from different worlds acting out there role in the credits. Love the love your sending to the community with these videos, keep it going for as long as you can!!!

When we did the Revan fan film a few years ago, we ran into the same issues. It's very tough to fund projects like this, even if your heart is in the right place. The rules are VERY strict, and there is no wiggle room. I think this project is awesome and if we did a sequel to our film following the KOTOR events, we'd be using Unreal in a very similar way (with the addition of XR). Best of luck for this! This is awesome.
