Today I'm going to be ranking various lucid dreaming techniques and tools with my own lucid dreaming tier list. These are just my own subjective opinions and preferences, so for example I might drop an otherwise solid technique in F tier just because I personally dislike it (Spoiler alert: I do just that).
From this list I've also not tried CAT or the various lucid dreaming masks out there so bear that in mind when listening to my rankings on those. Everything else though on this list I've tried and rank based on both my experience and my preferences.

I would put WBTB into S tier. It can help beginners a lot and has some scientific evidence to increase your chances significantly.

FILD and Binaural beats were what I did to get some of my first lucid dreams, but I haven't done those in a long time. Reality checks consistently get me lucid when I am doing them, but I don't do them that often. I think one thing most can agree on is Meditation being the best of the best.

I had a lucid dream while meditating once. I used the intention to lucid dream and meditated while my back was supported. I imagined being in a field next to a river and suddenly I was there. It only lasted a few seconds though when someone in the dream lifted my chin as my head fell to my chest both in the dream and in the waking world. :)

Hey Matt love watching the videos, I saw deild was good in this list and tried it last night and got 2 lucid dreams and both I knew I was dreaming instantly, Ty ❤

Nice video! For me, MILD is absolutely S teer. DEILD is also awesome, but I find it less consistent as it requires pretty opportunistic timing and circumstances. Would love to see you put out a new video on MILD. Take care.

Hey Matt, is it possible to have a lucid dream within a dream? Because just this morning I'm pretty sure that happened, let me explain. I was in a dream, and then in that dream, I was in my bed and did a lucid dreaming technique where I focused on what was behind my eyes, after doing that for a little bit I tried focusing on my breath and instantly scenery started forming around me and I was lucid. But then after waking up from that dream, I woke up into another dream. So was it possible I actually was lucid or did I just trick myself. Btw sorry for the long comment.

That is very common. It is called false awakening. False awakening can often lead to a loss or a gain of lucidity.

What if I were to play a song while meditating, and then I play that song when I go to sleep?

Sit comfortably, pay attention to your breath (I like to pay attention to the feeling of it coming in and out of the tip of my nose), then any time you realise you've gotten distracted and got caught up in thoughts or put your attention elsewhere - bring it back to your breath. Keep repeating that process of returning your attention to your breath and keeping it there as long as you can. If you're doing that process, you're definitely doing it right and have nothing to worry about :)
