Greetings from Scotland! A very special song for Lewis and also for me. Here is an extract from one of his posts on social media about this very emotional song. *"I've always been fascinated by the things left unsaid, whether that be in a relationship or a friendship. 'wish you the best' came from the idea of a person you've been close to at some stage in life… inevitably time passes and you're hearing and seeing the amazing things in their life that's continued without you, whether that be through friends, family or more often these days through social media. the battle between the struggle to want to know how that person is and everything they're up to in life but also the part of you that dies a bit inside hearing they've maybe moved on or about parts of their life where you no longer have a place.* *It's a song about what we don't say to those people, sometimes there's things we want to say but choose not to, either because of fear of rejection or out of respect for the person who can no longer be in your life for whatever the reason may be."*

People need to associate the song with the video but I think the video tells a story and the song is the soundtrack to that story. Like in real movies, songs don't always reflect 100% what is going on on the screen, the general story of both is loss of someone important to you, and that's as far as you need to go when you watch and listen to this. As for the story of the video is that the old man apparently has no family but that dog and so the dog has no one when the old man dies. The new postman, replacing the old man, runs into the dog and decides to take it home and give it a nice rest of its life. At the end, the dog dies and goes to doggy heaven... where the old man is because to the dog, the old man was everything. Also, Lewis, the singer in this is a scottish singer/songwriter who is a very interesting individual. He is funny, relatable and witty. He started being super famous back in 2018-2019, literally months before the pandemic hit. He rose to fame extremely fast, mostly in the UK, where his song Someone you Loved was a massive hit. He was always opened about is severe anxiety and got diagnosed with Tourrette's during the writing of his second album. There is a whole documentary about him on Netflix that really shows how difficult it was for him after so much success so fast, to not lose his footing in reality and all the anxiety that brought along. He is so genuine and just... normal... that you really come to care for him. The documentary is called *How I'm feeling now*, and i really recommend it! Be warned though... it might throw you in a Lewis-Capaldi-music black hole. Very talented guy!
