Thanks Lucie for the great reaction to what truly is a "lovely" original song from Emily. She wrote this while vacationing In Norway in the fall, so, a fifteen-year-old at the time. She says she was sitting in a coffee shop and she saw a couple come running in from a taxi during a rainstorm and felt inspired to write this. Now there is a whole other narrative woven into the song but the ability to take a commonplace incident and create a story around it is a sign of a great future in songwriting for this young artist. The music she creates to go with it is simply beautiful, I knew you would love that solo, every time I listen I hear the rain hitting the streets of Oslo. Emily has so much talent in so many areas, singing, playing, composing, and songwriting it is always exciting to look ahead and think of the incredible future she has but sometimes we just have to slow down a little and appreciate the brilliance of what she has already given us. With Miss Linge, however, I may freely avail myself of the most exultant, exalted, extravagant, and superlative adjectives in extolling her manifold attractions without fear of trespassing the bounds of propriety, but rather, accord her a simple acknowledgement of what my faculties clearly sense, expressed in well-chosen words that bespeak heart-felt affection and due admiration for one whose mere presence on stage commands deferential preference. Inclined as I am to the classical genre of music, I cannot, in good conscience, approve and applaud all the songs she chooses to cover; however, the number of those that fall within my approbation, vastly outnumber those that do not, being fairer than this is outside the scope of my discerning mind. Of her original compositions, as 'KAFFEBRENNERIT', she excels in both originality of melody and lyric, and would do well to cease 'covers' at some point, and undertake a steadfast course of music writing, perhaps in collaboration with her equally gifted brother, Christian, from time to time, who has demonstrated a keen knack for setting down a melody as well as Emily.
