i started researching because all i ever knew was them poking at her in the series i honestly had no freaking idea she was this amazing im almost 50 this is way before my time but thank goodness for syndication thats all i can say love to all

A lot people do not know that Lucille Ball could really sing. She does a beautiful ballet in the movie Long Long Trailer

She really could sing even if some dont agree. EVEN if they auto tuned like they do so many artists today....there were so many scenes she sang in and was her...her voice is lovely. If they embellished it at any scene in no way means she did not have a lovely voice. She did. She acted in movies since she was a child and had much talent. That was the only thing about the I love lucy show I did not like was to repeatedly portray her as talentless housewife....She was a well known lead movie star with much talent. AND even in her diminish her talent to the world for a character of sitcom she was legend.

My dad who was an LA apprentice actor at LA Geller Theatre Workshop & Wilshire Ebell Theatre during this era was asked to drop Bob Hope off at Paramount Pictures one day in 1949 where Hope was filming "Sorrowful Jones" with Lucille Ball which my dad was happy to oblige in his 1937 Chevy yellow convertible 'Always thought this was a Cool memory as my dad grew up 3 blocks from Paramount on N Bronson Ave

This is not Lucy singing. She was dubbed by a singer named Annette Warren, I believe....

Wow! It’s funny how on her show they made fun of her not being able to sing or have any talents trying to desperately get on Ricky’s show. The irony is sheer gold. The many talents she had were unmeasurable.

Did you not read the description? She is dubbed! She admitted herself on many talk shows that she was no singer and could not sing. In all her early movies, she has always been dubbed by professional singers. Her real singing voice is the one you hear in some of the I Love Lucy episodes. But in a farcical comedy, it worked well because it was really funny.

Imagine the discipline for Lucy to not sing well on the TV show giving her hubby Ricky all the glory...and she sang bad great!

Annette Warren is singing here. She did all the dubbing for this film. Lucy could sing fine enough, but not this well.

I agree, it's not her voice though I have heard her sing in old movies. Not bad...not great but definitely in tune and not raspy.

No, that was the schtik she was always scheming to get on Ricky's show. If they consistently let her dance well - the plot wouldn't work. Also, they made her singing far worse than it was. I loved hearing her sing "Hey Look Me" over with Dinah Shore and Valerie Harper - that was her voice and she was not young at the time either.
