As we got ready to drop the 451 Stroker into the engine bay of 73ChargerChic's 1973 Dodge Charger we started discussing the cleanliness of the bay. Wouldn't that big beautiful 451 Mopar look better if the engine bay was cleaned up and painted to match the body? Maybe throw some paint on the under side hood? Well in order to that we need to clean everything up so it's time for some degreasing and cleaning products to see what they do!
Since we needed to strip the decades of grease and grime from this thing we figured why not do a video comparing some different products to see just what works and doesn't work. Now this is in NO way a professional or controlled circumstances kind of test BUT, maybe it's something interesting for people to see done? We were doing it anyway so might as well film it.
So, what all are we using? This is a Gunk Engine Degreaser vs Easy - Off Oven Cleaner vs Super Clean vs Simple Green challenge! Well, not really a challenge. Anyways, maybe it's something worth watching to see just how these different types of cleaners stack up to engine bay grease.
