Although i was referring more to the idea of having large portions of the brain completely useless until you “unlock” them, and the idea that the only useful parts of the brain are 5-10%. I think I started seeing that series, but stopped because I found it “unscientific” or “staged” (I had so high standards that I expected a large sample for real experiments, but the camera angles seem too strange to be made by hidden cameras without cameramen and the samples were very small, as to demonstrate the behaviour visually rather than conducting an actual experiment).

That annoyed me at first too, but the point was most likely that it allowed her to use parts of her brain located in other dimensions in addition to the 100% we normally use in the three dimensions we usually perceive. It allowed her abilities like to see through objects, back in time, into the future and so on. Everybody knows wearing a ring won't make you invisible, but they are still able to enjoy Lord of the Rings. Lucy comes from Luc Besson's mind, the same guy who created "The Fifth Element". You have to remember that when you watch it. It was quite silly, but it also had a lot of themes that few movies have explored up until now and for that it deserves some praise.

It's NOT a myth. We always use only a fraction of our entire brain at any one point. The only "myth" currently perpetuated is the possibility of using 100% of our brain. Get it right.

And though you are right, what's even worse is that even if lets just say it's true that we run on 10% of our brain... this movie -- which supposedly advertises itself as demonstrating what it might be like to be able to use way upward of 10% -- would be still merely a depiction of using 10% of the human brain. After all, the imagination of the movie stems from a writer and producer who like everyone else utilizes 10% of their brain. In essence, there isn't anything in this movie that will truly make an audience go whoa. It's all confined to what we, humankind, already know, not what we don't know. Now, can it still be good? Maybe, after all "Back to the Future" didn't know we'd have flat screens and the internet in the future (such irony), and it still looked good, even to this day. But somehow, I don't think Lucy will remotely match "Back to the Future" or any past great films. Lucy is definitely, a "wait for blu ray" as opposed to "lets to the theater."
