Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star together for the first time since The Wedding Singer in one of the funniest romantic comedies in years. Not only does he get to spend an infinite amount of his daughter every day, but he also gets to fish to his heart's content and spend just as much time with his granddaughter. Pretty sweet retirement if ya ask me.

Yes, it's very lovely. But she's not facing the camera so they could have added that in post. Something that I learned from previews that don't match the final movie: if they're not facing the camera they can put any words in their mouth.

Want to know what's really crazy? This movie was made in 2004. It's 20 years old this year. That young girl is now in her early/mid 20s and possibly has a kid of her own, that is that very same age.

What a lot of people don't realize is she does remember. Just not the same way we do. Her body feels all the feelings, but her mind doesn't know why. The tape she sees everyday just rassures her to trust those feelings. Still, I imagine the day she gave birth must have been crazy...

I love this movie because of how authentic the ending is. I feel that a lot of other films, to cater to the masses, would choose a more popular one. I loved it because it didn't.

its just a story. my only concern is that she could wake up in the middle of the night, freak out, and fall off the boat.

Perhaps, she would be fitted with inflatable if she did not know how to swim. Still concerned for fire or storm in early morning. They did survive her being pregnant. lol

Or waking up 30, 40, 50 years older....What about when they can't have her dad or brother around, someone she absolutely trusts, to reassure her it isn't a horrible nightmare? Either way, they'll have some bad days and some good days.

Lucy is a character that you really don’t want to think about in the long run. One day she’s going to wake up and have to learn that her dad died from a video recording of his funeral. Now that I bummed you out I’ll be on my way out

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have the best on-screen chemistry together than any other film couple, in my personal opinion. I love ALL their movies and would be extremely hard put to say which was my favorite. But, 50 First Dates ranks very high. That and Blended (2014). See? I can't make up my mind.

Yes it is, it’s wholesome and funny but not ridiculously so, the only real problem with this movie is you had to have seen ‘The Sixth Sense’ at least once or you’re in for a huge spoiler. Don’t get me wrong, the latter is a good movie, but you shouldn’t have to watch one movie to keep from being cheated out of a plot twist, unless it’s in the same franchise.

this was the 1st movie I ever saw with Drew Barrymore I was an instant fan of hers after watching it, she was incredible in this movie her performance was so believable, I was always a fan of Adam Sandler from some of his other comedies, but this film imo shows that he's more than just a funny guy he can do really believable dramatic parts too

What makes me most mad about all of this. It’s impossible to find the piano version of “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” playing at 2:05. It’s literally soooooo beautiful on piano and played slow. You could have it as a wedding March or something it’s so perfect. Someone who plays piano pleaseeeee do it. So I can listen to it everyday. 😅

There’s real people who have these mental problems, they learn to live with it and accommodate their lives to it. It’s not perfect but really goes to show how people adapt to their circumstances.

I'm guessing the amount of paintings she has is at least evidence that she has been dreaming of someone for a while. She may not remember painting them but the paintings are still there. And every time she wakes up there's a new painting. Also maybe she is still able to access her memories via dreams but unable to consciously recall the details when she wakes up.

On the other hand what a loving husband to show the love of their marriage every day again and again despite of her wife's challenges with her memory

Like the other person said it was a car accident that made her lose her short term memory. Everyday she wakes up she thinks it’s the day of her accident and she does all the things she normally did on that day before the car accident, and everyone in her life went along with it so it doesn’t freak her out. The car accident was a year before she even met Henry so although they meet, she forgets about it so he figured out making those films helps with updating her on everything that’s happened. I agree though that’s such a loving devoted husband. It’s cool because in the movie his character was so afraid of commitment yet as soon as he met her he didn’t want anyone else
