Designer Thrift Haul | Buying Second Hand Luxury Clothes from Japan, YSL, Versace, Vivienne Westwood

I had heard amazing things about Japan's second hand designer and luxury market, but I didn't expect to be able to get such amazing designer fashion for the prices, not to mention some unique vintage pieces.
While brands like Chanel, Dior, Gucci and Fendi were not quite in my budget for this video, I was able to find some amazing vintage designer pieces online for incredible prices, and as I have an interest in sustainable fashion, buying some one of a kind high quality pieces second hand seemed like something I wanted to investigate! I managed to find pieces from Vivienne Westwood, Dior, Versace, YSL and Kangol, all on Yahoo Japan Auctions via Buyee. I have been able to find some quality clothing on Depop and Poshmark but this was an amazing place to shop second hand designer and luxury pieces.

Loved that necklace! Most of my clothing comes from thrift/vintage web sites. I do wear fast fashion jeans but am experimenting in getting several thrifted pair, hopefully they will fit. There is the thrill of the hunt, finding $200+ jeans at fast fashion prices of 20-30USD. I have bid on auction sites, but never been successful. The prices stay affordable until about 5 minutes before auction closes, a few high bids came in and that is it for me!

You can use a suede leather diye and color the jacket and enhance the color

ah yes buyee, the place where so much of my money goes T-T honestly for fees and shipping costs i hate buyee, but i tend to end up using it anyway just because anything available to purchase on there can be ordered at any time of day, any day of the week..... anyway >< lots of nice finds ! the pink coat is super cute ^^

Honestly, the jacket is such a you vibe that you could probably get it tailored to fit a bit better (but also the over sized look is a thing too) and you might be able to go to a leather worker and see if they can do anything about the discoloration. It might be worth it if it’s a piece you’re going to keep forever and maybe eventually pass down to someone 🤷🏻‍♀️

I totally agree! I definitely feel like it's a super gorgeous and unique piece so I'm going to look into getting some of the colour refreshed, but I think I'd like to keep the original shape as it's so comfy and cute with like jeans and a tee 🥰💕

I'm an Australian living in Japan, and we (individual customers) haven't been able to send anything to Australia except by sea mail (which takes 2-3 months) for the past 2 and a half years or by some really expensive private courier companies. It sucks.

I will at some point make this video in more detail, BUT if you are buying from a bunch of different places fromjapan is better to use then buyee for fees. They don't have a consolidating fee. it's just 300yen per item. However, if your buying from one store (say like 10 things from pokemon center.. lol never done that...) buyee is better because it's 300yen for the whole shop where as from japan would be 3000yen.

I've always wanted one of those necklaces, but I"m scared I'm going to accidentally buy a fake. The fake one is so similar to the real one in many cases. I've only been tricked into buying a fake item twice, once with a house of CB dress and second with a Sailor Moon figure so I generally do a lot of research before now and I'm having a hard time deciding what's real and what's fake.

there's a lot of vivienne westwood knock-offs floating around, even on the japanese market so please be careful! (jewellery and berets are the most common).

I absolutely will! Worst case scenario if it was a knock off I wouldn't be able to tell with this one 💀 The clasp and small details all seem super custom (which can be done with fakes too haha) but it doesn't have any obvious tells to me! 💖

You may already know this, but to get the kinks out of a pearl necklace, just hang it and let it’s weight and gravity gently take those out.❤️

I used buyee once.. my $10 thing ended up being like $95 lol (AUD) they also took a random $60 or something from me on top of that and couldnt explain what it was for and then wouldnt refund it.. suspicious..

That is... super odd 🤔 Mine definitely had lots of add on fees but it was all clearly stepped out so I'm not sure what happened to you but that's super weird!
