I'm glad Luffy had a speech, It shows how much he understands the situation and how far he has grown mentally.

The most underrated part is 1:39, when Kinemon cries, it feels like he has finally found the salvation for Wano, the one man who can take down Kaido after all the pain and suffering he's caused Suddenly, the big monster that cannot be defeated by anybody is now faced with somebody who can actually take him down at long last

There's something about Luffy punching bad guys in the face that just NEVER gets old.

Fun fact: Last time these guys were together, Luffy also punched a Dragon. A Celestial Dragon! What a masterpiece of an episode...the Megumi Ishitani and Eiichiro Oda duo is unbeatable

The person who originally named it Roof Piece deserves a raise, and the person who told them to change the name deserves a demotion and pay drop 👎

Besides the incredible animation (which everyone is already prasing, and rightly so), let's take a moment to appreciate Ms. Mayumi Tanaka, Luffy's VA, for absolutely killing it on every single word she said during this episode. This episode wouldn't be the same without her.

1:07 The way that Luffy says Gomu-Gomu here and the angle that he's positioned at in the air reminds me a lot of when he faced down the 3 Admirals at Marineford with a Gum-Gum Stamp Gatling. In Marineford he failed to save Ace, but here he got a bit of revenge for Ace by knocking down Kaido (since Ace was never able to return to Wano to defeat Kaido).

1:56 I love the sass in Luffy's voice here. They tried to intimidate Luffy right before this saying, "I dare you to say it again." And he spat those words as if to say, "Did I stutter?" Straight Chad energy lol

This one scene has everything. Nostalgia, sadness, sacrifice, legends, epicness, colors, music, art, character development. Thank you Oda, voice actors, musicians and animators

Easily the most visually appealing episode I’ve seen in a long time, they truly kicked it up a couple notches didn’t they.

The fact that kaido thought he could tank luffys punch just makes it all more satisfying when kaido gets drop to the ground so hard and fast that is surprises big mom and him

The way Zoro gives a smile while Luffy doesn´t smile truly gives goosebumps.

I love the bit at 1:53 where Big Mom and Kaido both turn to look at Luffy as he talks. The way their faces are shaded reminds me of the first OP when the different arc villains had their faces flash on the screen all framed in shadow. Oh how far we’ve come…

This one piece episode had me tearing up no lie... masterpiece.

Its truly tear-jerking to see how far one piece has progressed over all these years. This episode was beyond brilliant!

This episode is a masterpiece. It accomplishes so much and it does so organically. When it shows all the events that lead to this moment, I couldn't help but get chills. Especially since we were seeing snippets from Luffy's point of view. What really makes that aspect special for me, is that I don't often view the story through the eyes of a singular character so I don't typically know what some characters know and don't know. For example; Luffy never listened to Nami's backstory when Nojiko was talking about it so he doesn't know anything about it. Anyway, this scene was a reminder how far we have come since then and it really lays down the payoff in front of us. This is by far the best episode of One Piece to date and I imagine it will reign in the top 5 episodes by the time One Piece ends too.

Rewatching this LEGENDARY stretch of clips for 1071

Not gonna lie I cried a little when Luffy picked up Kin’emon and was talking to him. This episode felt like a mini movie!!

All these years, all these episodes, all these characters, fights, and stories… And one piece still finds ways to hype me up, as well as bring a happy tear to my eye

I'm crying, I've already watched this like 20 times, but it doesn't get old, at all.

It's probably been mentioned here numerous times already but my favorite part of this scene is that everyone is so absolutely shocked at Luffy knocking Kaido down... except Zoro, who just grins with pride. That's his Captain, the man he's pledged his life to, and this is just another reason why. The man who can do what Luffy just did is deserving of his respect.

They not only did justice to the adaptation of charpter 1000, but also made it the best episode of the show so far

The part where Kaido and Big Mom were looking at Luffy in pure shock and sweat at the end was so satisfying.

RIP to all One Piece fans who never lived to see this day. All the voice actors, editors, animators, and fans who’ve died along the way to help make Oda’s dream possible, thank you.

I love Luffy says what they want after knocking down Kaido. And that transition from Oden to Luffy is epic too.

A gift from Ace to Kaido. He couldn’t be here personally, but that doesn’t mean he still can’t send his regards. The animation team went hard for this episode. It looks better than most of their movies. Heck, it even looked better than episode 1000. They earned that break for next week.

When Luffy make his entrance to the top until the end of this scene is the BEST 3-5 minutes in history of anime

Using Prometheus as a light source is genius. The whole scene was perfect. I cannot think of a single thing that could've been delivered in a better way. Edit: After punching Kaidou, the whole lightning changes - the ("real") sun starts illuminating in the background, calling upon the new dawn. It is so well thought and directed.

We have witnessed so many epic enterances by Luffy so far and most of them were because of some kind of a rage moment. While he was walking between the 2 emporers it was pure confidence. We are witnessing a masterpiece in the making for many many years now. I hope I don't die before we see the end of it!!

Brother, you weren’t able to see this moment here, for your passing to the other side came way too quickly, but I know you are here with me, you are watching Roof Piece from the Heavens. Thank you Oda, for creating something that made my bound with my little brother stronger as we watched this together, for even if he’s not physically here any longer, I know he is watching with me

What I enjoy about this clip is that the flashback sequence perfectly illustrates the Straw Hats' mentality. They have no personal stake in the conflicts of the lands they visit. But if they see people suffering, they can't help but get involved to help save that land.

To think that this started all the way back in Punk Hazard. We have been waiting a decade for this moment and it delivered in every way possible. Thank you Eiichiro Oda, thank you Megumi Ishitani, thank you to everyone involved with One Piece!

The punch with the longest build-up in anime history, simply glorious.

I love most of all that this sequence starts from the perspective of Luffy, both his real and mind's-eye views of events.

One Piece truly is in a golden age. Movie quality animation. We finally made it to Roof Piece and it’s only getting better. Huge props to the entire One Piece production team from animators to voice actors behind this absolute masterclass of anime for chapter 1000

Everything about this scene is perfect from the shock on Big Moms face, to Zoros smile, to the brief flashback to his brothers final moments

Utterly breathtaking episode. The best in One Piece history and generally the best that I’ve seen in many years. Greatest series of all time.

The build up, the ferociousness of Luffy's attack, the absolute SHOCK on Big Moms face, and the "we are" ost in the background. These are the moments that make one peice my favorite anime of all time.
