Fun reaction to this amazing episode. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of Rarity's bits in this on show up in future volumes of Shenanigans. The only other episode aside from this and Sonic Rainboom with a lot of Rarity and Rainbow interacting is Dragon Quest, though they do have a number of fun little exchanges in other episodes as well.

+RarityDash Yes, I will certainly see what I can do for this episode! I hope you liked my mini pmv too, I thought the song was a pretty good choice. If i wanted to, I could have saved it for a future shenanigans video because it would make a fitting pmv segment I think. But i had no other songs on short notice that matched up as well as this one, so i stuck with it.

Luffyiscool It seemed like it had some good material for it. The whole guard interrogation scene in particular might have potential :D And yes, I did like the PMV. Not familiar with the song used, but it did really seem to fit really well.

This is definitely one of my favorite episode in the whole series. I'm not sure why, but maybe it's because of the noir style, Rarity actually doing something useful, etc. Actually, Rarity had more development in this single episode than most of the other seasons.

Also, from what I know, you can't cut a part of hair this big without any difference in the hair-style.... Unless you cut from behind, under some of the hair soo...... he would've have to turn her head, pick the right spot on her head and this makes me more and more creeped out because he had to touch her longer....... Brrr.....

+Dissy Swirl Here, let me give you some other tidbits of info to make it even creepier. 1. Wind Rider was hitting on both Celestia (7:34) and Stormy Flare (17:44) within the space of two days. 2. His voice actor, Jan Rabson, was the voice of Leisure Suit Larry for several games.

I have a theory about this episode. Thinking back to "The Cutie Map", remember how Starlight made every pony "equal" (except herself) because she was jealous of other ponies' special talents? And remember how she thought different cutie marks and talents ruined friendship? Well, I think Wind Rider is a call back to Starlight's viewpoint on having special talents: she believes that if only ponies were equal, they wouldn't worry about being better than every pony else. However, the problem doesn't lie in competition or broken records, the problem lies in Wind Rider's sense of honor. And Rainbow Dash didn't let her competitive spirit get in the way of helping her friend Spitfire.

The first time I watched this episode, I didn't enjoy it as much because I was so nervous that Dash might not be innocent. But the next time I watched it, I loved it! Dash and Rarity were written great, and there were lots of adorable moments.

This is a fantastic episode. The noir setting is fantastic. It's great to have a Rarity and Rainbow Dash episode. Rarity has the power of subduction.

EP 15 I thought the last episode was great but this one was amazing at least in my opinion. I love that this episode immediately started in Canterlot in the new boutique. I love that Sassy Saddles wasn’t just a one-off character because I really like her as a character. I love that we find out Rarity's favorite book series because we only knew Twilight Sparkle's and Rainbow Dash’s so far and of course it’s a noir novel starring a fashionable, sexy and sweet-talking female detective. I also love how much of a perfectionist Rarity is. I love how Rainbow Dash just busts in and messes everything up and then the opening starts. I was happy we were getting to see more of the Wonder Bolts while I was watching. I love how Sassy and Rarity are now good friends. I love how Rarity has no idea who Wind Rider she was just making small talk and Rainbow Dash is freaking out because of her hero worship. I love that while Rainbow Dash is proud of her speed and skill and likes to brag when she is around other talented ponies she's very modest. I also love how Rainbow Dash seems to be friends with the other Wonder Bolts now. I love now. I love how Rainbow Dash messes up Rarity's dress and is about to spit on it and Rarity is like fuck no. I also love how Rarity brought an entire chest full of dresses. I love Rainbow Dash's dance once she finds out she’ll get to fly with the Wonder Bolts.I also love how Soarin goes to stop Rainbow Dash and Rarity’s just let her have this. I could immediately tell where the episode was going when I found out Spitfires mother wasn't sick. I love how the element of loyalty is being accused of getting Spitfire out of the way. I love how Rarity shows up out of nowhere dressed like a detective to clear Rainbow Dash's name. I love Rarity’s black and white monologuing while finding clues and admiring her own reflection. I also love how the monologue is being interrupted by color scenes. I love how Rainbow Dash and Rarity interrogate the Royal guards and I'd say Rainbow Dash is the bad cop and Rarity is the good cop. I love the accent of Cinnamon Chai and how Rarity immediately starts getting important information. I thought it was going to be Wind Rider who had framed Rainbow Dash but I really like how Rarity explains how she came to this conclusion. I love how Rarity just has to ask again and Wind Rider just admits it. I love how Rainbow Dash completely chews him out. I love how every pony think Rainbow Dash can get Spitfire back in time and she’s like in her head I love a challenge. I love how Rarity is the only one who has complete faith in Rainbow Dash. I love how everypony turns against Wind Rider because he is an asshole. I love how Rainbow Dash finally gets to live her dream. I also love how Rarity was monologuing out loud. I love the characters in this the episode and the interactions between Rarity and Rainbow Dash. I think Rainbow Dash and Rarity are great friends and their opposing personalities make their interactions hilarious. I also love how you can see some of the clues during the episode. I also love how the ponies in the mane 6 with big dreams are now reaching those dreams.

+DJchilcott On a personal note... I absolutely adored this episode. I'm not even a big Raridash shipper, but the chemistry in this episode was perfect. And while the ending might have been a tiny bit predictable, the journey was near perfect. Rarity Noir is best Rarity.

That the plot isn't entirely top-notch, I don't bother about, as i'm not entirely within the "target demographic" anyway. ^_^

Ahhh, this episode. Rarity is still fifth best pony of six for me, and honestly the episode prior to this one bored me more than it caught my attention, but this one really struck me. Loved the style and internal monologues she did, and the set up that made it appear as though she were simply getting sidetracked by shiny things, when she was in fact gathering clues the entire time. I'll have to be honest though, the biggest pluses for me this episode weren't Rarity-related at all: A: Spitfire is back, and being portrayed correctly once more. I say 'correctly' and not simply 'in a positive light', because Rainbow Falls' depiction is downright terrible writing, and thus I choose to ignore it - sorry, writers. :P There was legitimately zero reason Spitfire's character needed to be further inconsistent, and Fleetfoot's never-before-seen character needed to be tarnished, as 'hey look we're being Shadowbolts 2.0'. That episode could have easily been done without villainizing the Wonderbolts. THIS Spitfire is akin to her Best Night Ever self, so ignoring Rainbow Falls, she's totally solid as a character once more. As a Spitfire fan, this makes me immensely happy.

My only question is why did they make such an emphasis about how it was a mare that bought a cake? Hell, even in Rarity's little imagination/flashback thingy it was a mare who got stained by chocolate, not Wind Rider.

I know it was Wind Rider. It's just, why make such a distinction if your not even going to follow up with it? It's like, why did Rarity even bring it up that it was a girl pony that ordered the cake if she suspected it was actually Wind Rider, in fact, Wind Rider could have totally just been all like "You just said that it was a girl pony that ordered a cake." and have punched a hole in Rarity's theory. And in the flashback/imagination thing it is actually a mare that bought the cake, you can tell by the muzzle, why would it be a mare if it was a flashback and why would it be a mare if it was Rarity's imagination and Rarity suspected Wind Rider all along? I don't even know why I care so much, I love this episode to pieces and this didn't change my love for it at all.

I was a fan of both things before i saw turnabout storm, which is part of why i loved it so much, because i already understood everything about what was happening right off the bat. I liked RTM as well, so I agree with Mr Enter. Although I personally feel like Season 3 is the one which broke the episode 8 curse first, since I actually love Apple Family Reunion. And although it's been on break for almost a year due to the busy personal lives of the crew, i'm involved as a writer and voice actor in "The Chronicles Of Friendship".
