The episode was funny and all... but that ending. That's the closest I've been to crying watching MLP. That scene is just fantastic, and everything from the voice acting, to the music and even the lightning efects made it look even more awesome. How other person said, I can't believe how far we've come since season 1.

That last scene is so heartwarming.Saved the episode for me, that scene just put into perspective how much Mac loves his sister and suddenly all the cringe I felt during the events turns into feels.

Thank you for another great reaction video. The last scene of this episode just proves further the fact that this show has gone so far from Season 1's first episodes - could you really imagine MLP would turn to this? It's taken a much more mature approach than a kids' show would normally take, and has brought so many more dimensions and perspectives to these characters that I find my love for this show completely rejuvenated at the end of almost every new episode that appears. Kinda makes me feel bad for the people who abandoned the fandom after Twilicorn became a thing, they do not know what they are missing out on in Seasons 4 and 5. The ending scene of this episode is just a whole new level of depth for me. It felt really relatable and realistic.

Called it indeed. I figured you'd use "Dude Looks Like A Lady". That song is so fitting. XD Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo are just so darn awesome and adorable as (technical) sisters. This season seems to enjoy hitting us with the feels.

Big Mac is best older brother. When I first saw this, I totally thought they'd go the Family Matters route and make Orchard Blossom really their cousin who just happens to look like BM the same way that Myrtle looked exactly like Steve.

This episode was equal parts heartwarming and hilarious. For the latter bit, you'd just have to see my reaction to seeing 'Orchard Blossom' for the first time, but the last scene was really beautiful. I never liked Big Mac being confined to simple 'eeyup's and 'nope's, since we all know he's a smart fella, and seeing him express himself like that to Apple Bloom was just wonderful. Well done, Dave Polsky. =)

EP 17 I love this episode it is bucking amazing. I love how this episode starts with Granny Smith being her hilarious lovable self. I felt really bad for Big Mac when I realized he was feeling left out of Applebloom's life. I love how much Applebloom admires and loves Applejack. Also Applejack blushing is always adorable. I felt even worse for Big Mac when Applebloom was ignoring him. I love how Applejack goes to Big Mac when he looks upset. I love how Big Mac is really unconvincing when he says he is fine. I think Applebloom was being overdramatic about Applejack not being at the sisterhooves social. I love how Big Mac tries to cheer up Applebloom. I love that Scootaloo is being allowed to compete with Rainbow Dash because they’re practically sisters already. I realized almost immediately what Big Mac plan was. I love how Sweetie Belle is always supportive of her friends. You just know in Applebloom's head she's thinking this is a fucking terrible idea. I love how Sweetie Belle doesn't take Big Mac’s shit for a second. Also Sweetie Belle has almost as much incredulous raised eyebrow game as Applejack. I love the voice Peter New uses for Orchard Blossom. I love how even though people who know him well are not fooled Big Mac is a really good actor. I love the stallion judge who actually fell for it. I really like the song in this episode.I love the my name isn’t but it’s not thing Applebloom and Big Mac do because it reminds me of Courage the Cowardly Dog. I love the completely deadpan yay Applebloom says during the 2nd event. I love how Big Mac is only doing badly because he's in drag. I love how close Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo are. I love how by the end of the race Big Mac is like fuck it and just starts breaking through obstacles. I love that the sisterhooves social does allow brothers too and doesn’t stand for cheating. I love how Rainbow Dash calls Scootaloo squirt. I love the heartfelt interaction between Applebloom and Big Mac even more so because it's the most Big Mac has spoken in the entire show. It also is a lesson that I think really resonates with a lot of people. When Applejack hears Big Mac and Applebloom’s story she’s going to be happy but 1st she is going to laugh her ass off. I am blown away by how this episode shows how talented Peter New is.

It's interesting, because as cringe-worthy as this situation is, it gives us a bit of insight into a part of Big Mac's personality. For 1, he seems to be a lot more intellectual than Applejack. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see little moments in the show where we find him reading books on Philosophy or other subjects.

The episode is all about the ending. I can relate so much. Me and my little brother don't have a Rarity/Sweetie Belle relationship, neither did we have an AJ/AB relationship. It's a lot more like Big Mac and AB. We always played together, I was always his big brother. And now I feel he's just one those kids I don't really want anything to do with. It's so weird.

I wonder where Pinkie Pie was during this episode. Isn't she supposed to be a member of the Apple family? I'm sure that if she was available, she would have loved to be Apple Bloom's sister (or Sweetie Belle's now that I think about it). I guess Apple Bloom (and the writers) must have forgot. ;)
@Angela.Perkins7 жыл бұрын
Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle probably could have entered as sisters if they'd thought about it. Then they both would've gotten to participate while their actual sisters were away. Of course, then Apple Bloom and Big Mac wouldn't have had the same chance to bond. :) It's too bad Sweetie Belle didn't get to participate, though.
@Schornforce8 жыл бұрын
Loved this episode, but in all the reactions I've seen, I wonder why no one asked why Applebloom never considered going to Pinkie Pie who's almost exactly like a sister. True, then we wouldn't have gotten the awesomeness of Big Mac, but I just thought someone else would've brought it up.

Great reaction! I have to admit, I didn't really think I would end up liking this episode when I first started watching it. I mean, Big Mac in a dress and high heels? Really? But I was totally blown away with the ending conversation between Big Mac and Apple Bloom. That alone saved the episode for me.

What does Robin Williams have to do with MLP and this episode? I had just read it on your description thing.
@luffyiscool8 жыл бұрын
Robin Williams played the lead role in Mrs Doubtfire, a comedy film in which a guy dresses up as a woman and pretends to be someone else in order to babysit and spend time with his children while they're in his ex's custody. Big Mac dressed up as a woman to try spending time with a family member as well, so it's quite easy to draw parallels to the movie.

1. 0:40 "I assume that Applebloom would bring Big Macintosh along, somehow. Is he going to be a cross-dresser in this?" Despite calling that, I bet you were still pretty shocked when it actually happened. 2. 6:00 AB: "Can't you just tell that map it'll have to wait a couple days?" AJ: "No can do, sugar cube. When duty calls, I gotta answer right away." _Otherwise, the map makes my cutie mark do something a lot less pleasant than tingle._ 3. 7:56 "Those hairstyles, though." Too bad for whoever made them that they had to appear in the same episode as Big Drag 'n Posh. The fan artists are probably aren't going to be giving them much attention. 4. 8:42 "I don't know what I expected him to look like, but that was not it." A little more enticing than you were anticipating, perhaps? 5. 11:36 "I thought the Sisterhooves Social was just the athletic stuff." There were some other competitions shown briefly in the background during the previous one, such as a pig judging and a pie eating contest. 6. 14:25 So... red ponies can't jump? 7. Even after watching this eight times, that ending still makes me tear up a little. 8. What was that ending music? It sounded like Maniac Mansion. Unfortunately, I shant be able to see your Friendship Games reaction right away because I'm waiting to get the DVD first.
@luffyiscool8 жыл бұрын
+Narrator007 1. I was 80% sure it was going to happen, because "brotherhooves" implied that Big Mac would somehow take part, and I put two and two together for how he could compete alongside his sister. I was correct to assume that a funny, self aware cartoon wouldn't pass that one golden opportunity for drag humor that they'll probably never have again. 3. While editing, I realized that they might be related to Fluffy Clouds, based on the hair style and race. 4. Nope, just not the exact design I had in mind. 6. Not really sure why he couldn't jump, since he was hopping really high while under the effects of the love poison in season 2. Perhaps the heels somehow made it too awkward for him to jump properly? 8. The ending music, like my last few pieces of bgm, was found in an entire download of the database of the 8bitcollective, which was packaged into a torrent just before the website closed down. The people who made the torrent were sweet enough to include little notepad files for each individual track though (and there's at least 4000), which give the original credits of each track. The track I used for the ending was "Carrot Juice Overdose" by the user Miau. Sadly, I can't track down a copy for you. I can however link you to the torrent which gives you all of the music from the 8bitcollective. www.legittorrents.info/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=ecb1bc999470297243210a4503a38f1d5efbac79 ^ That's the one I used, not sure if it still works. I'd still try it and see.
