You're exactly right, this arc is basically the straw hats showing off their powers like "Who do you think you are!?, I am!" as a warm up. Also you're right about what Hody's flag symbol means (though it's funny since it has the 'no' symbol so it's kind of the opposite lol). The end is almost in sight...but what did Hody say? We shall see. Thanks for the video!

Honestly, I really think you'll like Hordy's motivation reveal. I mean, not LIKE it, but find it interesting. Because there are people just like that. I won't say more, but what happens next I feel honestly makes Hordy a way more intriguing villain. There hasn't been a single character quite like him in One Piece so far.

As others pointed out, their symbol consists of the drawing of humans without their heads inside a sun, which resembles the sun pirates symbol. However i didnt see someone point this out: their symbol changes one of the main purposes behind the sun pirates symbol: making it impossible to distinguish between someone who was and someone who wasn't ensl aved by the tenryuubito

That was going to be the case with whoever their first opponents out of the time skip were. This is a stage of the story thats meant to take us back to the East Blue Dynamic. Luffy didnt train for 2 years to get knocked around in his grand reappearance

@mmem4264 I don't think it's totally out of the question that the Straw Hats might have been able to handle this situation pre time skip, but certainly not with this level of ease and grace. Luffy would have to be spamming Gear 2 to keep his physicality on par with Hordy and would probably have already gotten exhausted a few times by now. The mid ocean fighting might have genuinely been too much for Luffy to overcome, speed and strength wise, without his vastly improved base fighting abilities he cultivated during time skip. Pre time skip luffy probably wouldn't have been so casually decking Arlong in an underwater fight, bubble or no. Oh and let's not forget what a huge amount of effort Luffy was able to save with his better-controlled Conqueror's Haki. Approximately 50,000 enemy combatants (even fodder) eliminated instantaneously is a LOT of stamina and time Luffy saves to focus on what's important. Pre time skip the Straw Hats may very well have just gotten locked in a battle of attrition against the colossal New Fish Man Pirate forces for the equivalent of 3-5+ episodes while Hordy and Decken just slaughtered the royal family

Luffy beat a pacifista with a single punch but couldn't beat hordy with a single punch so i don't think pre time skip Luffy can beat drugged up Hordy, maybe the non drugged version.

I understand why the villains are not favorites in any way but come on, pre timeskip could NOT defeat them, everyone went training for 2 whole years to be able to do this and we can see them all gotten much stronger than pre timeskip, to say they could win against them in pre timeskip to not acknowlege that the SHs gotten stronger when it's a huge difference!

I can’t decide if General Franky’s one big homage to Gundam ZZ or to Super Beast Machine God Dancouga, but Franky’s VA was the main character in both mecha shows. Hot blooded shouting just comes naturally to him, especially when it comes to hentai…er, henshin gattai. (Henshin means transform, usually used by characters like Power Rangers or Sailor Moon when changing, while Gattai means “combine” or “become one”, usually used when robots fuse into one bigger robot. Hentai means…well, literally, it means “strange” or “perverted” but I don’t want to explain it further lol)
