One of the hottest discussions when this part of the arc was aired was that the combats were way longer than in the manga. In the anime, Hody ate way WAY more pills than in the manga, in the manga Hody never had the slightest chance against Luffy, in fact Luffy remained basically intact the entire fight and Hody and his army was only used to display the Straw Hats new powers.

Many people dislike Fishman Island arc because of Hordy Jones and say he's a lame drug addict which is true lol But I believe these types of people are the most pitiful and most dangerous ones , they're truly empty and just full of empty hatred that was created by their environment. They were raised with all these thoughts, that's why Otohime always said we should be careful how we act cause children are watching.

How Robin's double clutch happened: Robin is creating whole bodies instead of just arms or legs. She creates a whole copy of herself from the enemy's body, which is honestly some horror movie type of shit (I love her). PS. Hody saying humans did nothing to him is such a GREAT villain moment. He is not like Fisher Tiger or Arlong, who suffered directly from humans, Hody is just someone who inherited the hatred and keeps rolling with it in a generational way, just what Fisher Tiger and Otohime were trying to prevent. Absolute chefskiss moment.

Red Hawk is an move that really expands Luffy's moveset. Not only is it supercreative, but it also makes me think about the gears and how his GumGum fruits work!!! Second gear is Luffy pumping his heart faster to get an speed boost, which makes his skin red and hot. While Red Hawk is in my eyes a technique that expands on the Second Gear. Instead of using the accelaration inside his body to get a cool boost, Luffy is actually using the friction of his skin??? XDDD Like, how would you even come up with this idea honestly, Luffy really be something else xD In any case its is a cool move, and it showcases that the sky is the limit if it is about Luffy's abilities!!! 😆😆😆

Luffy's first Red Hawk is a special reaction to me that I always look forward to because that was the point where I caught up in the Manga and began delving into reactions and theory videos.

I think I can help you understand the whole apple thing. Apples have always been a symbol of knowledge. That's why kids would bring an apple to their teacher back in the day. They are healthy for you. I personally eat an apple a day myself. They help you loose weight and keep you fit. Plus they're delicious.😋 Then there are some religious beliefs that the apple was the fruit of knowledge in the garden of Eden. So in some beliefs it symbolizes temptation. That's one reason why they use apples for villains. Also remember the first episode of One piece? The first thing Luffy ate was a crate full of apples.

Something that stuck with me after I noticed was that the Sunfish pirates mark was masking the Hoof of the Celestial Dragons. Hody Jones and his crew have hollow marks with ONLY the ring of the sun around them, using the hollow center with a beheaded human-- meaning they could NEVER have been hoof marks. They took ONLY the part of Fisher Tiger's mark that served them (the ring disguising the hoof), without ever understanding the meaning of the mark.

Red Hawk, while pronounced as, well, “Reddo Ho-ku” is written in Kanji in the Manga using 火拳 which is the same kanji for Ace’s “Hiken” (Fire Fist). Acting like Ace in dismissing Shirahoshi at first because she was a crybaby, and this Homage, shows that he’s accepted Ace’s passing, and wishes to honor it. Blaze it!!!

That is a sign of a good villain imo. Too many shonens do the whole "bad guy is misunderstood" troupe and it gets pretty boring very quickly. I think Hordy is a good villain simply because he is so one dimensional.

While every other pirate's "Jolly Roger" (Their symbol) are the representation of their captains, Hody's Jolly Roger is a decapitated human being, showing us that the real "captain" of this crew is an idea, and not the people who pilots it. This is also represented by Fukaboshi (Mermaid Prince) telling the audience that Hody is a being with no substance, as he only serves the idea, and have nothing else in him. It's a great symbolism but sadly does not make this arc any easier to watch through.

I mean - bad things from the past SHOULDN'T be forgotten.....but they can't be used as an excuse for bad things to happen again........

One could safely say that this whole situation with the Fish-Man’s grudge against humans had technically brainwashed Hordy’s entire gang into believing that they’re stronger than any human and all of humanity could just die. I mean, there have been some stories where bad people are the way they are because that’s what they’ve been taught to the point where it’s all they think about.

I shall comment whatever I want, and that is...I totally understand the bug thing, had a fly buzzing around right before watching this (got it though). The "I want problems!" meme is so fitting for Hody, but this time with the katt williams really got me. Some interesting things about the name of Luffy's Redhawk attack. 1) Luffy's attacks are typically named after guns and there's a gun called the Redhawk. 2) The kanji for Redhawk is 火拳銃 and when read one at a time they translate to Fire Fist Gun (like Fire Fist Ace).

Apples are closely associated with evil because of the serpent (lucifer). It is just a fruit that grows in a tree like an orange or a banana but an Apple 🍎 is what most think of when they think of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit. So in the scene of kid Hordy its him( the evil one that represents hate in this arc) and the apple, in Death Note its the apple and Ryuk the representation of death since he is a shinigami and he is a demon of sense for his lack of morals. Ryuk started the series because he was bored and used his power (death note) to start chaos in the human world for his amusement. Keep up the good work.

Robin got insanely creative with her power, over the timeskip. Wonder if she ever uses her "clones" to multitask. Other than Luffy and Zoro (and Chopper, who is in his own tier for me), Franky and Brook have got to be my favorite Straw Hats. Sure, Brook always asks to see every single woman's panties, but he doesn't do it so much that it's annoying and often has perfect comedic timing (take notes, Sanji). He's got a silky smooth voice, cool powers (heh), and has some top tier moments sometimes rivaling even Zoro's moments. Franky has just been raking in back to back W's ever since Water 7. Only thing I don't love about him is that he got rid of his pompadour after the timeskip.
