Glad somebody that produces travel videos finally gets it. It's not all about the "Wow" factor, sometimes it's just about flying on the most majestical commercial aircraft ever built. How often do you or anybody you know pay attention to 737s, A-319/320s, RJs, A340s, etc. every time one is landing or taking off? Nobody does, but you can bet that people always stop and watch the Queen as she arrives and departs. That aircraft and the typical great Lufthansa crew that comes with it is all you need to enjoy a trip in 7-4-7. If the food isn't good or the seat configuration isn't to your liking, doesn't matter, you're still on 7-4-7 with some of the best cabin crew in the business. Plus, the champagne will always keep flowing. How many of us aviation enthusiast would would pay anything right now to have the opportunity to fly Concorde one time? That aircraft was loud, food sub-par by today's standards, cramped, and basically had Canadair CJ700 seating in it, yet was another majestical aircraft that everyone paid attention to. Sometimes the experience is just being there and everything else is just a bonus.

Hard to believe the original 747's went into service 53 years ago. Flying them always seemed a little special.

I’m flying with Lufthansa from Munich to Singapore in Aug and they’ve offered me a business class upgrade for €1430. I think it’s really expensive and I’m wondering if it’s worth the money. Would you do it?

@@rollie206 Enjoy your flight Roland :) As great as it is to fly Business Class, I‘d never pay so much extra money for it. What about booking flights with airlines miles? Do you have a strategy for that as well?

Die Videos sind von der Machart her echt gut, auch die Musik. 😀 Aber ich würde gerne eine Muttersprachenversion haben. Das Englisch wirkt unheimlich gequält, herausgedrückt und unentspannt. Auf Deutsch wären die Videos wesentlich sympathischer. 👍🏼👍🏼

What's the difference between 747-800 and 747-400? I thought they were the same plane?

The B747-400 ist the older generation of the B747-8. The B747-8 is bigger in size, quieter and more efficient than the B747-400.

From a passenger standpoint, almost nothing. -8 has a First Class section and 10 more seats up stairs. Otherwise, everything else is about the same.

Why would LH operate such a short flight? Aircraft positioning? I am not a 'global warming alarmist' as the climate changes naturally over the millenia, but irrespective, it seems a huge waste of fuel for LH to do this. One can travel in comfort, seeing the countryside and German towns en route, from Hamburg to Frankfurt (city centre to city centre, unlike the airports) by DB ICE (excellent trains, with the ability to move around denied on an aircraft). The B744's J class is nothing to write home about: seven across is outmoded, just as it is on Emirates, which the latter never tells passengers about. Imagine having a middle seat in business class! No thank you.

They operated a handful of flights on this route to get their crew trained on the B747-400 again. 😅 That‘s what airlines do before sending new or old aircraft on long-haul flights again.
