I know it's a long shot, but I hope there's at least a level or two that will be compatible with the Labo (like they did with Captain Toad and Mario Odyssey) so we can see it in 3D again

It's an HD remaster like Metroid Prime. The assets are the same, just upscaled to look a lot crispier.

@@aaronTGP_3756I’m pretty sure Prime Remastered used mostly rebuilt assets instead of the ones directly from the original.

@@paperluigi6132it did. it’s similar to what bluepoint did with Shadow of the Colossus where it’s the original source code underneath with a new engine on top with rebuilt textures, assets, lighting, etc.

What didn’t people like about it? I haven’t played it since it originally came out but I remember really enjoying it. I definitely didn’t love it as much as LM3 though.

​@@BooBanana The pacing can be a bit rough. E Gadd calls you every minute, the mission structure is annoying to some people (though I like it), and a lot of areas are blocked off in early missions.

@@Cool-Vest_Leo ah gotcha. Definitely remember the E-Gadd calls. Guess I was more forgiving with it back then since I was used to Nintendo being really excessive with the hand holding during that era.

@@BooBanana I still agree that it's a great game. It's only major issues are in the constant interruptions, which different people find more or less disruptive. Honestly I don't mind it. I grew up on Mario Galaxy.

I grew up on the original and I still liked Luigi’s Mansion 2. But I also managed my expectations ahead of time. I was well aware of this game being developed by a western studio (Next Level Games), as opposed to the original game which was developed in-house by Nintendo’s EAD team. Next Level Games are a talented group of developers, ESPECIALLY when it comes to character animations. But only Nintendo could nail that atmosphere from the first game… and I do agree that this was definitely missing in the second game. But like I said… if you go into it with an open mind and don’t have these “It must capture the EXACT feeling of the first game” expectations in mind… Luigi’s Mansion 2 is a fun time for what it is!

How would you explain that every asset and cutscene have been remade instead of using the 3DS ones? Luigi's face was nothing but textures in the 3DS version, and some models look a lot different from the 3DS version as well. I think Nintendo themselves don't really know what "remaster" & "remake" mean because this game doesn't really look like a remaster at all but more of a remake.

I'd expect it in fact. It's a remaster, and Charles is the Mario Ambassador, no beef with Nintendo or anything. I'm fine with Kevin going forward with new games, so as long as they respect the past.

@@TayoEXE I think Charles Martinet will still voice Mario but in Sandbox Mario games (3D Mario, Mario Maker games) my friend met him at fan expo Vancouver a while ago and Charles told him that he would lend his voice to Mario in Sandbox games, hopefully this is true, so i think Charles will voice Mario characters in 3D Mario games, Mario Maker games + the remakes/remasters, while Kevin voices Mario in everything else

@@marcus5528 That would just be kinda confusing for the consumer, atm their portrayals of Mario are kind of distinct. I expect Kevin in everything Mario going forward, minus the next Mario movies.

3D World was incredible and very well received, average review score around 93%, it just had the misfortune of releasing on the WiiU, an amazing console with terrible marketing

3D World was hated? only bad thing I heard people say was that it was 3D Land on a console.

@@jeremyknight9980It was hated because it wasn’t anything ground breaking like the previous 3D Mario games similar to 3D Land. It wasn’t until Mario Odyssey released when people looked back at 3D World and realized it was great since Odyssey got some of its controls from 3D World

I noticed that games like these tend to have a change in opinion once the context around it changes. 3D World came out at a time when fans craved for a sandbox Mario game and more creativity. Once they finally got that with Odyssey, they were able to look back at 3D World in a more positive light. As for Skyward Sworld, not only did the Switch version fix some annoying problems but we are now in an time where Zelda fans miss the storytelling and lore of older Zelda games, thus making Skyward Sword more appealing.

The fuck are you talking about? Both Skyward Sword and 3D World recieved critical acclaim and were pretty much loved by the public (for the most part at least).

In terms of cutscenes, expressiveness and added gameplay mechanics I agree, but the 1st game will always be my favorite just because of the spookier vibe it has compared to the other 2.

Dropped it because I couldn’t bare the 2nd game. But I’m willing to give bad games a full play through this time now. The first one is my favorite out of the trilogy.
