Well he had a much scarier design in the original Luigi's Mansion that resembled this one. It wasn't until the party spinoffs like Mario Kart: Double Dash that they toned down his design to look like a regular boo with a Princess Peach crown.

Probably because of all the trouble Luigi went through and u remembered that but put it together yet it's over so Luigi had his happy ending because of us (who aren't frea led out before the boss of tm)

The ending cutscene is probably one of the only times in a normal Mario game that Mario and Luigi actually came closest to speaking in complete coherent sentences. XD On a side note, I'm very, very happy that Luigi finally pleased his brother. :D

I like how Mario thanked Luigi in this game; He even pointed at Luigi saying he's #1! Those KZfaqrs that think that "Mario has been a jerk to Luigi" should watch this and see that Mario thank him. Now that's what I call brotherly love.

I loved king boo in this game he was much more of a threat, he was actually terrifying despite the game’s mostly lighthearted tone, and his design is amazing compared to his other games. I look forward to his rematch in the third one

I've got a theory: the true King Boo is the one we face in Luigi's Mansion and the sequel, while the other spin-offs show us a replacement king instead, because King Boo in this game acknowledges being captured in a painting, maybe in the very moment HE GOT OUT is when he started to plot the events of Dark Moon. How does that sound?

No, I think that the crowns he wore in LM 1 and 2 affected the way he looked, and that with a regular crown he just looks like Big Boo. He even has the same laugh in Double Dash and 64 DS. (though sunshine's King Boo is definitely not the real King Boo)

The hardest part of this fight was running through the halls. Mostly because MY thumb couldn't stay on the thumbstick on the 3DS, so it slowly slid off and I had to constantly adjust my hold. You can bet I nearly died several times because of this.

Rees the reasons why I like this final boss way better than the original. 1. It's because the final boss isn't just plain old bowser as the final boss like any other mario game. 2. I also like it because you actually fight king boo himself unlike the original were you just fought bowser as always and you just sucked up king boo in the poltergust without actually seeing king boo attack.

You know what makes the ending scene special? Outside of the Mario RPGs, you don't really get to see Mario and Luigi actually INTERACT with one another. So seeing Mario hop up and enthusiastically thank Luigi for saving him, while Luigi modestly waves his hand as if he doesn't deserve the praise while still enjoying it, is very beautiful.

The great thing about this game, in the ending, is the feeling that Luigi is finally acknowledged as someone who can actually step up and save the day instead of always being in the background. I feel that Luigi finally stepped out of Mario's shadow.

What a way to start the year of Luigi. Just have Luigi fight King Boo once again. Unlike the past games with King Boo, he's back to the way he's supposed to be. Evil looking, psychotic, black shading around the eyes, and even more scary in this game. 20 years old and that picture scene scared the hell out of me. XD

I like this one better. King Boo actually tries to kill you without using some mecha suit. It's also always fun to run for your life as you get chased by King Boo rolling down the hallway XD I also like how Bowser wasn't dragged into this just because it's a "Mario" game. Feels much more separate from Mario with King Boo using his own powers, instead of trying to copy Bowser, and cowardly running away when not in the suit >_>

King boo in this case because he destroyed the dark moon and captured Mario secretly and was keeping ghosts under his control without Luigi’s and E Gadd’s knowledge.And then all the secrets reveal to e gadd and Luigi when ur about to start E-3 in Treacherous Mansion.

For people that are complaining that Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon should be on the Wii/Wii U, the first Luigi's Mansion was originally gonna have a 3D function, that was scrapped because it was blurry. So Nintendo decided to move that project for their next one, the 3DS.

Hey! I saw monsters University today with my family, and Mike and Sulley pulled off a record-breaking scare! King Boo can't come even the teeniest bit close to collecting that much scream power if it applied. No matter how much you or anyone would decide to scream, it can't be beat.

2023! Almost 10 years ago this game came out. I still don’t even have it lol man I remember watching videos on my computer when I was in school then this would appear like a day early and I couldn’t believe it and then they would say spoilers, and then the recent years they stop doing that man I miss the good old days.

Is it me or is King Boo genuinely scary in this game? That scene where he appears behind Luigi in the door way creeped me out big time.

I wouldn't say "kid-friendly" is the best way to describe it. I would say that it's more "cartoony," from the graphics to the ghosts' behavior. It's pretty apparent in this cutscene, like the Greenie in the Secret Mine shivering once the Dark Moon returns. But you can even see it during the main game, like when a Greenie taunts you by saying, "Nanny nanny poo poo!" or when it misses an attack and says, "Doy!" and has a dazed look on its face.
