Hi lovely Luise. In order to get your bulb pin flat you need to put a jump ring through the thing you are attaching and then loop it on to your bulb pin. I hope that makes sense ❤

Hi Luise -- I'm not sure you realize, but you ARE actually showing us how to "embroider" junk journal elements! Historical tapestry makers approached their artwork in a similar way. They often had a general idea of the tapestry design, but had to adjust their process based on any challenges they encountered (availability of materials, quality of materials, demands of the patron/customer, and so on). I find your ability to adapt to a "moment of chaos" so inspiring...because you always end up creating something uniquely beautiful. So, may I say THANK YOU for the inspiration and your willingness to share your process with us...your efforts are greatly appreciated!! 👏😊

Your journal is developing right before our eyes and I love being able to watch your true process. I love the bird in the cd envelope…I have those to use in my journals and had forgotten about them….thanks for the reminder. I love the TH background stamp how it kind of speckles the pattern on the page…gorgeous. I too like using stamps off the block but this pattern of stamp is amazing for the look you achieved. Thanks for all this knowledge you’re sharing and say hello to your video friend…he seems very nice and it’s so wonderful he helped you at a time when your creativity wasn’t flowing. Take care 😊

This is so good for me. I struggle what to do after I make a journal cover. Your struggles along with your humor about it make me laugh 😂. That dvd envelope was a fun process to watch and your mention and kidding around of your friend Barbara. I love what you did with that bird too. Showing your struggles are good to all of us watching. So cute to have Sasha watching you too lol

Love your videos, Luise. 1:29:45 One thing to mention, is that as an artist, in order to create, you must continually add to your well of input. It sounds like you found (Sven? I can’t remember what you said his name was…) at just the right time. He is inspiring you by providing new input. I have heard you talk about music being a very special means of inspiration before. Make sure you do new things on occasion, see the same things in a different light, and add to your creative well often so that you don’t end up in that dark place. Take breaks from creating periodically so that you can take that time to rejuvenate your well (your place inside yourself where creativity comes from). I’m using a lot of metaphors here, so I apologize if this doesn’t translate very easily. The call with your friend was so cute, and fun, and it was nice to see you creating on autopilot, and showing your flow without the hard part of talking about what you are doing the whole time. ❤😊

It’s a fairly esoteric process, I appreciate your trying to put the creative chaos into words….reminds me of Kali, simultaneously both creator and destroyer. I think I hear your screws turning in your brain during your pauses. I love to witness your creative leaps…makes MY process feel more valid!

Luise - to make any kind of dangle hang straight you need to add a jump ring to the bulb clip and then the dangle from the jump ring.
@lightbulbnirvana
@lightbulbnirvana 2 ай бұрын
Regarding bulb pins (you called them garment pins) if you want them to lie flat use a jump-ring. Jewelry makers change the orientation of a bead or dangle on earrings or a necklace by adding a jump-ring. You could put the jump-ring through the grommet of the tag and then link it to the garment pin, or put the jump-ring through the grommet of the bellyband to link it to the garment pin. The choice is yours dear Luise!
@annjohnson4366
@annjohnson4366 2 ай бұрын
Yes, to turn your pin you need another layer between the charm/hole and bulb pin. A jump ring, oval if you have one, or even a bit of thread wrapped around the edge through the hole in the charm would work with less bulk. Hope that makes sense.

Hey Luise. I recently discovered paper embroidery & that would be perfect for you to add some embroidery into your journal. It’s easier than other embroidery as you draw the lines on the page & punch out dots, then use the embroidery thread to bring the image to life. Try Flourishing Fibers - she explains different stitches & designs really well & makes it easy 😊

Stretching a piece of embroidery floss across the page for the Bird to stand on would’ve been thin and would go with your theme. A red piece would’ve mimicked the red lines of the original paper and would’ve made it look more 3-D. That was the thought running through my head as you were working.

My unsolicited opinion at around 54:00 min is using just the one piece of trim directly under the bird like feet and cut the rest off. The rest is covering a lot of the texture you wanted as well! Easy for me to say sitting here!🤣💕🇨🇦
