Right now the best basketball player in the nba no doubt about it. He's a scoring machine, a killer like Embiid (even though he's the most double teamed guy in the nba by far). He's a hell of a passer like Joker. Last but not least he gets plenty of boards as well. Finally, he's consistent in all of this and rn he's leading his team with multiple injured players, one of them the 2nd best player of the team. For me, for these reasons, he's the number 1 in the mvp race.

No one cares about that pity MVP winner. Sixers recent schedule has been against the worst teams, and embiid is the biggest FT merchant, averaging 11.5 a game. He hits 4 more Ft's a game than Luka, and his avg is less than 2 more ppg. Embiid is a center and only avg 3 more rebounds. Luka also creates more points overall with his assists and playmaking, and takes way harder shots than embiid. Luka also outperforms embiid in the playoffs by HUGE margins. Luka is easily the better player, and is the MPV so far over him @@Aneeshtherave

Luka has the most complete offensive game in the league and it’s not even close. Unlimited range, mid-range is almost automatic, can get to the basket anytime he wants, far and away the best footwork in the league. Also, arguably the best passer in the league. Mix in his basketball I.Q. and court vision (all time great on both levels) and you see why he is The Don.

The most blitzed player out there by far (the 2nd place in that list is not even close even when multiplied by 2). Yet still getting these ridiculous numbers and totally carrying his half injured roster to among the best in the super stacked West. If that MVP is given to another player, then the award has totally lost its meaning.

Whats special about Luka is. You do appropiate defense against Tatum, Booker, Halliburton and other superstars and they'll stop producing plays. You play defense against Luka and he is still scoring on your face.

the MVP race is going to be crazy this year. Luka, Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, SGA (and to some extent KD) all playing lights out, and these are just the sureshot contenders. if someone like Tatum or Edwards steps up, it'll be basketball heaven my money gotta be on Luka man

Luka and Nikola Jokic are pushing the limit of the rule book for TRAVELING/WALKING... I am always rewatching plays in slow motion to figure it out if they're switching pivot foot or taking off before initiating a dribble.... It's often very hard to tell. Obviously not taking anything away from their incredible talent/performances with this comment.

@@harrytoms90 while not being a full on embiid hater he is doing this stretch against bottom feeders in the East. Embiid def a consideration esp. post harden gone gone, with Embiid/Maxey game, but compared to Luka having to force carry a half injured team including their other 'star' is crazy.

That is Joel Embiid bro. The guy is averaging 34.2 points and sat out the 4th quarter 9 times. He is averaging 35.5 points in his last 17 games.
