For Luka who is 25, always injured, overweight, and based on the advanced analytics the worst defensive player in the last 10 years in the NBA finals, he is no lock to return to the Finals Kyrie or no Kyrie. He hasn’t won an MVP in his career, and he’s no lock to do that. The Wemby era is looming, Ja Morant is returning, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid are still in their prime. Now all of a sudden we are going to pretend like it took Luka performing some Herculean effort? He was good for 3 out of 4 series in the playoffs. That’s it. There are no guarantees that Luka will ever return to the NBA finals. The west is stacked.

@@Watchingvideoslikeu bro you say good for 3 out of 4 series as if that's not good... based on your thinking no one that they beat will ever make it to the finals because they lost to the mavs. the celtics are simply a bad matchup for the mavs. in the same way that the timberwolves were a bad matchup for the nuggets. the nuggets would probably beat the celtics in this series. the recency bias of nba fans is insane. somehow people already forgot that the celtics barely made it by the pacers. if it weren't for a bunch of mental mistakes by the pacers they would have been up 3-1 in that series and possibly won. that's way more concerning for their future because it won't be that easy every year, but the mavs actually fought through a ton of competition. the most important thing for the mavs future is the development of dereck lively. if he can become a reliable threat offensively they'll be fine. they could get lucky with kyrie and luka but it's tough to win with only two guys.

Why is the main ball handler missing so many free throws?

KP was out 1/3 of the season. The Celtics won with him all season. He is a huge injury liability which is why Washington gave Boston two first round picks just to dump KP off on someone else. They got the 25th pick in the draft last year and a lottery pick This year. Sure he is good to have but he’s a 30 mil a year lawn ornament. The celts made that trade to draft young talent to keep the brown and Tatum core in tact. Hopefully they can use KP as a sixth man. He just gets injured too much.
