I originally had a little surface on it and hated it but once i put some polish back on it, i like it a lot better

I absolutely love my fate bought it thru your link, our center is ancient so you can see a little more difference over the phase 2 , the fate is a little cleaner through the fronts and a touch more angular down lane, 2 of my fav's

You know, I really love how you do your videos, where you say which balls these are like.... and basically this is kind of like partly a phase two, the journey is an exact replacement, you say it's like an IQ tour, and obviously reacts similar to an IQ Ruby; it's like a high road, and even like a summit. Unfortunately, I'm not getting the same type of reaction that you're talking about, so I may have forgotten to reset the surface, which I'm going to do and then test it out.... because normally I have a really good relationship with anything below, so I need to see if that's possibly what I forgot to do and I'm thinking that's really it.

You mean you're not getting the same reaction out of the Fate that we are? What kind of reaction are you getting? Different lane surfaces and lane conditions can make things act differently, so it's not an exact science of course, but it should react SOMEWHAT similar, shouldn't be like completely different.

@@LukeRosdahl it would really go a lot longer and maybe only have maybe a third of the hook that I would see you with or angel. That's why I'm kind of barely used it and used it sparingly. It would really even slide a lot farther in more oil, but then I'm bowling on what oil is left after league so I was thinking that I would have probably seen about the kind of reaction that either you or angel have, and since I haven't, I was thinking resetting the surface or rather resurfacing the ball to 4000 grit. My reaction usually is pretty close to what Angel throws because I have about the same on the ball as she does, with my only difference being roughly that my middle measurement out of the three on my layout is going to be four and usually my reaction is fairly close to hers, so she gets a good look on a ball my look is very similar. So you know how the PBA would normally rate a ball on its hook? The Fate would have been rated about an 8, like the trend, or the trend 2, yet I would say this maybe has the hook of my hustle inc, which they would have rated as a 3.5.

Ah, yeah if you haven't reset the surface yet, that's probably the issue. If you watch the original review, I threw mine out of the box and it didn't hook much at all. When I reset the surface, it got a lot stronger.

Thank you for not delaying the hook on your videos. I actually like when you post about balls sine I feel I get an honest review from you despite throwing it different than you and your wife. The report cards are awesome too! Keep putting out quality videos man. I’m here for them all 🤘🏻

Luke. No doubt i roll in a wood house primarily. I found that at the end of last season Symmetrical was the way to go. I've had the fate for awhile now. But my primary ball line-up this year will be P2, fate and IQ emerald. Fate and IQ emerald with identical layout. Thanks for all you do and i couldn't agree more.

I have a P2 and Fate, and I also saw the overlap. Even for someone who's been bowling for a year and a half, I'm still learning how to read/watch ball motion. I do need to use it more, and after watching this, I'm taking it to league tomorrow and leave the P2 behind for a change.

I love my fate, prefer it polished but boy can I play with surface. My preferred bag for house is phaze2 at either 2 or 3000 the fate polished and hustle wine.

I basically bring it everywhere, and I always have a look with it even when I can't throw the ball to save my life. I have over 100 games on it and it's showing it's age, but I think I am going to make it the first ball I have ever bought a second of.

My husband says it’s his benchmark for “non-sport patterns” or short oil sport patterns like viper or cheetah.

Thanx again Luke for suggesting on another vid this speed Dom house bowler might have better luck w med strength ball to get a quicker reaction rather then keep trying things like my SLOW super nova and other STRONG but ultimatley "slow" balls. Hadn't matched w my Fate much as a transition/later ball like I'd envisioned, so instead of jumpin on a Gem or reality I sanded my Fate down to 1-2000, MAGIC in a bottle on fresh @ 6-7 at arrows!

I seem to have an allergy to the reacta gloss finish. I have yet to throw a ball with that finish and it not be too jumpy on off the friction for me. I took my Fate down and had it done with a 3k polish. Nice and shiny, it get through the fronts nicely with the IQ tour-esque smooth motion to the pocket. I don't think I'll ever be able to play this ball like my Pitch Black. I have way too much rev for that. But I can see how (under the right conditions) you could possibly play the same area of the lane somewhat. Nice review as always.

Maybe its because I'm a Belmo fan boy, but i feel like this is the best Belmo ball versatility wise, house or sport, long or short, if you can get the right layout, it will be your best friend. I love mine, and only sold it due to it being basically dead after i put about 500 or more games on it already

Bought the Fate based solely on your videos, and it's been amazing since the very first shot. I kept it at box and just let it lane shine. Do you and Angel do anything different with the surface? Thanks!

Yeah we took the gloss off, and since then have resurfaced a couple times due to use, Angel keeps hers at reacta skuff and I usually go 1000-step 2 on mine

What's a better step down form an idol comos, a fate or night road?

Fate is like a half step down, it's good but still a little too close, I think the Night is the better step down.

I am a two handed and I asked my pro shop to give my vacu grips and I noticed that they are sticking out of the ball a bit. Is this a problem because I do clip my fingers on the first oil ring. Should I ask them to cut it so it is flush?

Technically they should be cut flush, but most people don't unless they're bowling nationals or a pro event, it only becomes a problem if you do roll over the fingers or are called out on it.

Would you say the Fate is a more versatile ball than the Zen? And would you also say that the fate is a better ball if so, or do both have their own time and place?

I never thought the Zen was that good, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask. It was either flat 7 or big 4, couldn't ever get it to both get down the lane and then actually finish on the backend. The Zen for most people has been mostly versatility of use across the lane, and some versatility of pattern coverage, the Fate has a VERY wide versatility of pattern coverage, but not a ton across the lane.
